#what helped you stay consistently motivated as you progressed at kohaú?

personally for myself i think my biggest help was having friends who were also chefs and i could relate with
inevitably, there will be rocky times and places in your adventure that will be much harder than others but having people that will be there for you and uplift you is the best support
and adding onto my pov, it was also a personal goal for myself to help other players with people who break rules or answer questions anyone may have and that in itself also kept me dedicated. when i first started back in 2024, i knew i personally wasnt ready to take on new duties or even aim for HA in the first place, so i took a break for the entire summer in 2025.
after that, i met my new friends and they made me strive for HA and that definitely helped me as well
im not a HA yet, but what makes me motivated, is 100% my friends, specifically, @formal scroll & @round knoll
@leaden knot friends helped me stay motivated and wanting to unlock beef pho
i unlocked beef pho way before than i expected to 😭
i definitely plan on making kohau a place of socialization and community rather than purely just work. i hope i can meet some good friends as my journey continues, and keep the ones i already have.
i appreciate everyone who contributed to my question and took time out of their day to answer this, you guys stand out to me c:
i still didn’t get it sadly
but ofc!
wow this is so inspirational ty!!
but lowk he’s right, I don’t think I would’ve made it this fair w/o my friends and lowk this may sound weird but doing something stressful made me motivated like school bc after a hard week, I would just get on kohau and laugh and call w friends which motivated me more than anything
im not a ha but i still wanted to answer this question c:
YES, friends are definitely a key factor on having motivation! i personally think that it doesn't matter the rank, just that you have friends that you can hang around during minigames or just talk to outside from serving!
-# shoutout to two of my lovely friends @lament nymph & @lyric plover 🩷
GOALS! Having goals is a huge motivation booster, my goals that help me push for activity is chef benefits! i really like to collect secret recipes so it's a motivation booster as i want to add them to my collection!
MINIGAMES & SHIFTS! hot take but i think that they do help with motivation! it's just like a fun thing you are excited about waiting for it to come! shifts are fun because you can bond with new people and talk to your friends as well since they are all active at once! minigames... well i think it's self explanatory! it's minigames it's supposed to be fun!
extra tips:
have time management in kohau! u shouldnt be draining yourself all in one day and that just doesn't want you to be anymore active!
being consistent will make you just more motivated, as it puts you in your mindset!
find something to do during shifts while you wait so you aren't bored! i like to do my homework or work on my thumbnails for shift videos! c:
just have fun in general! if you aren't feeling good about it i would say just take a break for a day or week or month depending on your mood! mental health should be prioritized first. ❤️
mhm i agree with everything that's been said above! my friends have definitely encouraged me to work hard enough to reach my goals. we were all chefs at the same time and we achieved our goal together! so essentially it would be nice to have support to help you from behind to cheer you on and to work with as a rival :D
TY
I would personally say it wasn’t really friends, because I didn’t actually make any friends while being a chef. What motivated me to play Kohaú was collecting secret dishes. I know that sounds weird and different from others, but I loved grinding points to unlock ranks and sushi rolls so I could get new things from the Sushi Merchant T~T
after grinding points for a long while, i found myself just really enjoying serving and chatting with people as i made their food c: just was incredibly enjoyable for me
there's also just a fantastic community here that i haven't experienced before so i felt very motivated to succeed in an environment that made me feel happy!
hii! i love this question so ill try to answer it for you! just like a lot of people said, friends make a huge difference. if you work alongside your friends, you can get motivated to be promoted with your friend! that happened to me! <3 @full fulcrum
secondly, i really loved serving execs in shifts! for some reason, it just felt super fun for me to be able to serve executives. i served many rec gms which helped me stay motivated even more!
even things like minigames to show that ur active within the community helps so much with consistency! i find minigames so so so fun and super creative so i definitely recommend you join some!! you can even get a chance to even make some friends within the community as well! :3
also what helps with motivation is not playing for excessive amounts of time, you'll eventually see yourself being drained out if you keep on playing for long and long periods of time within a day. mental health is always more important than a game! 30+ minutes is enough for one day and yes, more is indeed better but that doesn't mean to be playing for 5-6 hours on the day!! just play at ur own pace but be consistent. i wish u luck on ha if trying <3
most definitely my friends. they stayed with me and cared for me even when i took a massive break, and they were always there for me. we would always take group photoshoots (we still do!) and they're just such great people.
im genuinely so lucky that i was able to surround myself with such an amazing group of people.

for me it was also friends and it continues to be friends that motivate me. additionally, creating a healthy shifting schedule also helped me a lot. i wouldn't shift for like 40+ hours a week, but id try to create a goal of minutes i wanted daily that was reasonable (30-45) and didn't try to do more than that. this helped me avoid burn out
