i think we already have #1088501406618628269
i wonder why i in 95% get +1000-2000 SP stronger enemies? who gets weaker ones? how is this matchmaking work?
i have never get logical answer.
after 2 days still no answer. as i thought it will be. no suprise at all.
Alright!
I'm going to try and prove myself wrong here and hope you are actually going to read and understand what I'm saying, because you have a bad habit of not reading answers you don't want.
I will answer this now, and if i see you ask this question again, I will mute you - then refer you back here.
Got it? Excellent!
Here's how I see matchmaking works according to what I've gathered from playing and from external evidence. These factors work with each other in different ways and at different times to create your matchmaking experience. I will edit this as I see fit if new data comes to light.
Basics:
When you enter a match, the game takes the power of your best mech slot - that is, the slot having the highest power due to pilot, mech, weapons, and implants - and multiplies it by the number of unlocked slots you have. That gives the game a MSP (Matchmaking Squad Power) to work with, and that value is what it then searches for a match for when you enter matchmaking.
Win Rate:
The game also takes into account, your win-streak and how easily you were winning. If you were barely getting by, the game only incrementally increases the bot and player SP you run up again. A loss will stop the increase and continued losses will bring down the difficulty of what you are facing.
If you fail enough, the game keeps you out of player matches, so you don't get frustrated with constant losses. In that state, you could play a dozen matches without ever meeting a player, until the game thinks you've adjusted enough.
If you are blazing through the matches, the game will slowly increase the difficulty, until it suddenly jumps into matchmaking you with higher tiers.
For example: I run a very curated hangar, so when I play, I usually win. I got a win-streak going one day, and when I got to 35 wins, the game stopped matching me with 4 star stuff - which is my level - and started throwing 5 star bots at me, from both Tier 7 and 8. I maintained that win-streak until the 45th match, where the game decided to throw 6 star bots at me, along with giving me incompetent bots.
Once the win-streak broke, I immediately got 5 star mechs, but still with lousy bots, and when I lost that again, I got demoted back to the 4 star mech bracket.
I wrote a lot more, but my clipboard crashed - ain't no way I'm retyping 3,700 characters when you're likely to ignore it, so have that.
Question: Not trying to be disrespectful here, but that just doesn't make sense how the FFA SP Droppers work, unless they lose many games in a row. Is it based on total squad power or just the best mech in your hanger? Thanks!
Yeah, I don't play Tournaments often - definitely not FFA - so I don't know of any nuances the matchmaking system has to account for FFA.
If I find out extra details, I'll add them.
PS: I was the one that changed your name. Feel free to change it back - I didn't because I couldn't remember your original name.
Ah i like this name tho lol
your experience is maybe what you wrote. but my experience is that even when i lose few in a raw i still get live enemies with +500-2000. it seems is more random +-2000SP. and if game takes the power of your best mech slot(pilot, weapons, implants) there would be no SP dropers. and i found out that if you balance all slots you actually are doing bad thing. i wish i knew before that its better to upgrade only 2 or 3 mech as i see with a lot of opponents having such set ups.

opps ok galvan
Well
It's understandable when they're bots... but when it's other players... I hear ya... but no one else does I'm afraid...
I have to disagree with these BASICs... otherwise SP dropping wouldn't be a thing... However... your next bit, whilst FRUSTRATING as all hell, being PENNED into losses just "because" you're a skilled player... FUN...
I can see being a way they do it... and whilst I wish they would opt for something less "autofail"... what else can ya do...
The nuances change every time they implement a new way to combat SP dropping, so some parts are out of date.
The thing about your bots getting dumber when you play well is definitely still active, though. You are either a fabulous player who can snatch difficult wins, and won't easily be affected by that - or the average player who sometimes has irreplicable win-streaks and has to work without half their team doing much sometimes.
And that's fair... I chew ABOVE my SP grade pretty commonly in tournaments... where SP is irrelevant. So I feel that when I walk into CPC or other "standard" matches... I dunno... maybe I just don't keep my game as tight... or the whole "play the objective" thing is beyond the bots and ppl I get matched with? who knows... I really do ultimately hope they continue to work on the MM tho...
And OMG I hope I'm right that SP doesn't matter in tournaments... or THEN I would feel a bit miffed... Grandmaster should be for those with the top gear or top skills or the combination of both...
