Know it was a issue whit DLP

good call thx for bringing this up

No worries, I know now haha

For the water map

The suffocation mechanic on the water map could be a bit clearer. Since it's such a big deal if you miss it something really apparent (bubbles around your head?) would be nice.

It'd be nice if the bubbles respawned. I get why they don't but in a party the amount of bubbles, if your rng is bad (or you're bad), can lead to bad things. Especially on mobs where you have to move a lot and you accidentally use one.

livid acorn
#

I will not have the bubbles respawn. Skill issue 😛

#

In terms of suffocation, there should be an on screen notification that tells you that you need oxygen, right?

quiet anvil
#

I think so, but i'll be honest, wherever it is I'm not looking. I'm looking at a mob, my char, skill bar, etc.

fresh tapir
#

Agreed, I feel like half the time by the time theres a pop-up its too late and I've drown

errant stag
#

There is a text pop up in the top of the screen but it's not very clear.

livid acorn
#

what we really really need is some UI visual effect

#

like the sides of your screen are glowing blue and bubbles appear everywhere

#

and then an oxygen mask explodes from your monitor and winks at you

fresh tapir
#

Love the idea of that. In the interim, would it be possible to do it as a "timed" debuff?

livid acorn
#

isn't it a timed debuff?

#

i can keep the notification on longer?

@green carbon minyo and me cleared like over 60 fire maps

#

0 frags

same whit fire weapons 0

#

minyo only seen 1 fire weapon in all the runs

so mabye something not scaling correctly

reef shard
#

Quick check of my Monster Journal and I have earned for Fire maps: 36 celestial keys and 0 frags. compare to Water: 31 celest and 17 frags. Looking at the map monster I could find I typically have gotten about 1 frag for every 2 keys.
I used this weird method of checking because I cleared a lot of maps before legendary drops were a thing so kc wouldnt work.

#

I also figure this would account for any loot drop bonuses I get from a high tier compass. The ratio of celest to frags.

green carbon
#

I rebuilt the fire loot tables just to make sure - lets see if its fixed for next patch

Not directly related to keys, rather the Chrono vendor in this case (and would apply to other vendors as well):

Items that are a one-time consumable should not remain in the vendor's inventory after you have consumed it. Not only does it bloat the UI but it also leads to instances where you can purchase something you already have and can do nothing with it as they aren't tradeable.

Alternatively, you can leave the items but make them able to be sold back to the vendor for the same price in the event you accidentally buy it. This still leaves the "bloat" but it at least removes the accidental penalty.

I own all of the x'd items in this image and have no reason to ever buy them again, but if I do I'm just out chronostones.

The edge case you'd need to account for here is someone buying these and deleting them (though I'd just make them not deletable to solve for this).

green carbon
#

We do have this as a task item actually, need to build the logic in the vendor code to support it

What yall think about merging all key monsters into their own "Key map" category in monster book?

Thoughts on adding leylocked celestial keys? If for no other reason than for testing / feedback as a temporary thing?

I can understand the desire to have it random when the system is finished, but while adding bosses and iteration is ongoing, it's going to be pretty annoying to target the new boss. It will get more annoying as more are added as the likelihood of getting the new one will continue to diminish.

Open to other methods if you don't want to go that route. My point is I want to be able to test and feedback on the new bosses without friction.

livid acorn
#

yes 100%

errant stag
#

Cool ❤️

errant stag
#

@livid acorn So what's the deal with the Zealot of the Flame guys? I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

They hit 1 health and then channel their AoE. I stand still in said AoE to not take damage, then they spawn 3 gold circles. I run over the circles while they are up, which I seemingly don't take damage from while this is happening, but I gain 11 stacks of the debuff. In the last map, Minyo and I encountered this and it seemed very inconsistent, so much so on the last mob we pulled Minyo just died randomly while we were doing the 3 circles.

livid acorn
#

ah yes

3 golden circles

do you remember what the anubis mobs say?

Unfortunately AQ20/40 are the worst parts of Vanilla WoW IMO, but I do like the Abuisath guys

green carbon
#

im weird i kinda like aq20/40

reef shard
#

I think there may be a few issues with it. One being that before the circle spot appears, you get a flash of where it will be. I think if you touch this area it disrupts the process whether it was the correct next one in sequence or not. Also, they either appear just directly under you maybe out of order instantly disrupting the process, or maybe they just dont spawn at all.

#

That map and the mana vixen map I don't think are working right all the time

green carbon
#

roger we can check

errant stag
#

It doesn't feel like it's working correctly based on what we have tested, would appreciate a check. Thanks.

As for liking AQ20/40, I love the idea of it. Massive fan of Dune and desert areas in games. Love C'thun. Just hate how much downtime / trash there is in there.

i have done about 70 maps at lvl 46 mobs gotten about 17 fragments

#

then against 48 mobs 70 maps 17 fragments

#

now 49 mobs 20 and no fragments yet

#

i just dont notice anything about fragment drop rate increase by going higher map lvls

#

So it seems pointless to upgrade atm

green carbon
#

You won’t notice it in a short amount of runs, it’s actually ideal to find the sweet spot and not push higher unless you want to min/max

idle timber
#

Then id ask this what is the good enough runs total were you should feel the difference?

green carbon
#

Idk we would have to bust out chatgpt and do some statistics

Say your drop chance improves from 1/1k to 1/750 at t20 (made up numbers)

You might not feel it in 750 kills even though the rolls are actually more favorable

In the end though, I guess everything is 50/50 so it doesn’t matter which tier you run Sinister

idle timber
#

50/50

#

All that it is

#

Also ressist seems useless in maps

#

I got 25% water ressist and still take like 1100 damage

green carbon
#

what tier?

idle timber
#

T14 i think

idle timber
#

doesnt show new icon on inventory

#

only crafting menu

quiet anvil
#

I think celestial keys are still too rare unless I'm just unlucky on drops (or really lucky on fragments)

I've gotten probably... 80 or so celestial keys, no cinder drops, but I'm sitting on 18 fragments currently.

If I end up getting as unlucky as Minyo/Crank I'm looking at 40+ fragments before I get a single Cinder. If this rate is normal fragments are going to be worthless in comparison to keys at 1/256 cinder chance

#

Also i think something buggy is going on with maps. We left a map unfinished and in other maps we were seeing corpses of these guys. Also fighting Farald I see them up in the trees too

idle timber
cunning berry
idle timber
#

And later ubers

#

Think its also possible to fix by having them be purchased whit chronostones

#

Like 10-15 stones each

#

Calling them like Celestial locked keys

#

And making them untradeable

fresh tapir
#

Sunken Depths, Zerker is able to accidentally dash under the map and gets stuck. Was the first stretch after starting the map, maybe 2nd or 3rd mob. Dashed next to the mob, then stuck and was beat to death unable to move. Couldn't dash back up either.

fresh tapir
#

Sphinx's on the Hall of Heroes map give a lot of stacks very quickly. Their Solar Flare move gives 10 per time hit, without a good was to stun that, the blind debuff makes them very difficult to fight them after getting hit by flare a few times. I feel like it could be reduced from 10 per to 5 per.

livid acorn
#

as long as you stay in the dome of protection, you wont get any stacks

This was from a summon map. Shadow Visage pop and summon but also probably shouldnt have popped the all enemies vanquished in the middle of it. XD

fresh tapir
#

@green carbon seem to have an issue with damage on maps. Just got 2 shot on the first mob. Did 2500 then 3500. I'm level 46 and my maps are lvl 49. This one was run solo.

We are running as a 3 man and I'm regularly getting hit for 1600-2500 as the front facing person. Been like this for 3 maps in a row, all different maps with different mobs.

green carbon
#

Kk will check, can you share your damage log so I can see the attack info?

#

It’s possible that this is because of 2 bug fixes:

  1. everything in maps used to be physical damage even though it reported an elemental subtype

  2. The armor changes to make hitting armor cap not trivial

Also your character sheet and resistance to the element would be helpful to know

fresh tapir
#

this is the whole fight on the first mob that I ran solo

green carbon
#

Do you have the incoming damage side?

#

I do see that 1 hit actually

fresh tapir
#

That is the incoming no?

#

its mixed in, I clipped all the hits it did on me

green carbon
#

Perfect I see it my b

fresh tapir
#

My Resistences aren't accurate as I have both the maps talents so a 3% for all.

idle timber
fresh tapir
#

Prior to this I had no issues with them, they were pretty comfy

idle timber
#

Like before changes 1500 on me

fresh tapir
#

And it wasn't just them, its been 4 differen t maps with different mobs

idle timber
#

Its prolly because you have physical armor

#

And they used to all do physical damage

#

Even to it said water it was physical water

#

So you would reduce it completely pretty much

fresh tapir
#

I understand that, and that armor got changed to be better balanced. Getting 2 shot on the first mob with basically unavoidable damage feels pretty bad

idle timber
#

Yeah agreed

#

In general map mobs do lot of damage because maps keep scaling damage wise but you dont actually get stronger

#

Before it was easy you could hit physical cap and be done whit it

#

Now you prolly cant go higher then 44 ot 45 maps whitout dying

green carbon
fresh tapir
#

I would assume not?

green carbon
#

ah i see, ok they are flat magic resistance instead of raw elemental reduction

#

we can make them appear in the list so it's more clear

fresh tapir
#

Tooltip in shop vs talent after unlocked

green carbon
#

I think the remedy here is correcting the map multipliers

we reduced dmg of monsters, but didn't get the map modifiers

fresh tapir
#

That makes sense, so the now that it swapped to elemental damage the multiplier just stacks really fast then?

green carbon
#

that may be the case yeah

idle timber

i was already taking insane damage before

#

no pressure if you can't atm

fresh tapir
#

downgraded my compass by 2 tiers down to 12 and it still feel pretty rippy with the changes

fresh tapir
#

str BoC. so less magic armor overall. But mostly just stating that even with the 15-20 scaling change, and 2 tiers knocked off it still is rippy running them solo

idle timber
#

thats the light armor experience before they changed all the types to be elemetnal

#

since its 50/50 on autos doing magic or physical medium is better

fresh tapir
#

I mean... same boat or not, if it feels bad it feels bad. Not really a competition haha

idle timber
#

every mob did like 1500 to me for as long as i remember

#

and yes it does indeed feel bad

#

i suggested way back to just make the auto negligable

#

since you should do the mechanics

#

and not worry about dying to random attacks

fresh tapir
#

Example of 3 hits from a mob. I have no debuffs from the map aside from the -65% res from map modifier

fresh tapir
#

Another example. Without the self healing from zerker, I doubt I could even fight these guys. Healing pot/ divinity's reach wouldn't be enough, then resting between every fight and needing to wait on potion CDs before entering the next.

#

Different map. 2nd pic is the mob that killed me. Happens within seconds because of autos. Just makes maps not worth running. The time investment, potions need, just not worth it

green carbon
#

it may still be a bit high, will look further today

quiet anvil

Should Riftslicers do both arcane and "None" damage?

quiet anvil

Sidenote #1: I put on spellslingers cloak to give myself an additional 5% arcane but it translates from 6.3% resist to 9.6% resist mitigated. Is that correct?

Sidenote #2: Could the cd on their nullification skill increase by a hair? Right now the pool on the ground lasts longer than the cd so you end up with multiple pools in a tiny area D: Chisme pls

#

also the hitbox is a little wider on the aoe than it should be. Here im' getting hit by the debuff while not being in it

quiet anvil
#

ok, i know this is a dead horse but melee in maps is a huge no-go right now. I know the one is a crit but 30% of my hp in one hit is rough. This is only with a level 9 compass, the mobs being 2 levels lower than me Meanwhile magic classes are getting an additional 20% or so naturally on resists if in cloth

i do plan to look at this again tonight Prayge

quiet anvil
# quiet anvil I think celestial keys are still too rare unless I'm just unlucky on drops (or r...

bump on this

I still think this is the case given how few celestial keys I see drop. I'm trying not to buy keys or my cinders to get a feel for this grind and I think it's quite steep.

You'd need ~600 regular keys to get enough celestial keys and then run ~500-600 celestial keys to have enough to make a single 2h weap.

So 1200+ instanced runs. Each regular key taking ~10m and each celestial taking ~2m = 120 hours of key content for a single 2h weap. Since we're expected to get multiples for classes, multiples for resist types. It's feeling quite steep right now.

#

also, these guys still spawn in weird spots

green carbon
fresh tapir
#

I love the idea of being able to buy keys and have a market for it, but the current end game playerbase isn't set up for it right now.

#

Also, maps really only offer stuff towards legendaries, so anyone running maps is working towards those, and not wanting to sell keys since they want to run them themselves. If there were other things added to maps that made running them for an alternative reason, then I could see that more.

quiet anvil
#

yea, maybe the move too is that i just do buy keys/cinders now to simulate the future state. I think a lot of us are in the old completionist mindset.

I just don't know that i'd ever actually sell keys/cinders but maybe others would if they have a single class they really vibe with rather than an altaholic like me

fresh tapir
#

So, not sure if this has been reported before... but.

You can open a key inside of a key. If its the same map type, it puts you back into the beginning of the map you were in, same mobs, same amount still dead.

If its a different type of map, you enter it same as you would normally. Leaving the new map puts you back into the overworld, not the original map you were in.

green carbon
#

yes we do need to add a check to prevent this and require zoning out

lime sand
fresh tapir
#

Actually, that is a fair point. And if someone opens early, then its their loss of the key. I don't think I'd mind it staying, but the downside is the same type map puts you back in the one you're already in

green carbon
#

Would be nice, but PoE doesn't let u zone map -> map either - more issues that need to be considered

fresh tapir
#

Yeah, but thats integral to how PoE works since you have scarabs, divine vessels, additional map mods that all get added to the map. I could see if stuff like that is the plan for this game in the future to have modifiable maps, then it would make sense to not be able to chain

Random memory accessed (not to be confused with RAM...or is it the same thing) How are maps instanced? I need to look through some things, but I believe the game "Rift" had themed keys for personal persistent housing. They added random drops to mobs that were placeable in the maps to customize them. I think they had both personal and guild level keys.

green carbon
#

Chisme's original idea was kinda like this - essentially like Hideouts in PoE where u had a home base and worked outward and explored more keys and improved your hideout

It will be good to get construction items into drop tables when the system is ready

weirdish bug.

We had a party, me, opec, and darx.

Me and opec openned a map and most hte mobs were dead. Darx was in there having started that map earlier (arcane map) so we joined him half way through the map

fresh tapir
#

Our nature map was entirely Barklings. In the basement we had a singular Myconoid in the basement area

fresh tapir
#

Armor still missing/not working right for Tempermancers in the Frost map

fresh tapir
#

Also, after the most recent restart, me, Darx, and Azrick keep getting the same mob in each of the maps we are running. We're mainly getting Frost, Earth, Fire, Air maps, and its always Tempermancers, Orgiod Raiders, Pyromancers, Eagles. Same for the thunder map too, but can't remember the mob name.

#

This is after around 25+ maps that its always the same mob in each respective map.

green carbon
#

roger that tyvm

green carbon
fresh tapir
#

Interesting, wonder what caused that

fresh tapir
#

So the Zealot Keepers of the Flame in the divine map are still super bugged. Their sacrifice ability goes off about 9/10 times and the circles they put down still sometimes show up under the map/can't step on them. They are incredibly annoying to fight since you can't really prevent getting 10 stacks per kill, and they quickly become almost impossible to kill since they hit so hard the more stacks you have.

Recommendation, disable those mobs from the pool of mobs for that map till theyre fixed. Right now they are a 100% skip mob.

quiet anvil

reef shard

Yeah they sometimes work and sometimes dont. You are supposed to step on them in order, but they will just stop spawning. I suspect this means they spawn under you or a party member and it breaks the order and they go borked, but they could also just be appearing under the ground or under a decoration that you cannot get to.

#

Lots of ground circles spawn under decorations or in water/lava and you cant get to them still. Armored Arthropods and Doomsayer too. Might be more I don't remember

quiet anvil
#

In the Arcane Nexus Map around 33, 58, 3 there's an invisible wall/rock in the middle of the platform

quiet anvil

The first couple kills in maps doesn't lag quite as bad but still lags in maps

fresh tapir
#

Just had a Sunken Depth map with 2 other people. While fighting the Armored Arthropod, when they did their nautilus attack, stepping on the 5 circles wouldn't clear them, thus getting stacks. I later couldn't breath from the map mechanic and tried 2 different bubble columns and it wouldn't take them to regain breath and I died.

Per @dim tide, there was a different Sunken Depth's mob that once he got stacks, he couldn't collect bubbles either to fix the map mechanic.

I dont think any of the step on floor mechanics work right now in maps
