#⭐ I HATE Ethyrial

I’m just clarifying what the ask is
No. Not using a magical weapon.
Yeah i know. I never once mentioned spells. Thats absurd.
Okay so you are looking for magical weapons, staves for example, to give melee xp with auto attacks - just to be on the same pg
Ry. Come on man.
#1407300168075968532 message
Dont overthink it
Thats very straight forward. If it isnt. Games in trouble.
If i melee, i should get melee xp. Its simple logic.
If i skin, i get skin xp, if i mine, i get mine xp. But if i melee with a magical weapon, i dont?
This is not the first time its been brought up, and thats why it doesnt feel genuine. Its basic stuff as it is but this has been brought to your attention multiple times by multiple people
Auto attacks are melee, not spells. To ask me if im asking for people to get melee xp from spells doesnt engender a desire to continue the discussion, as it clearly isnt in good faith.
For me in osrs, usually even some lower level stuff is rewarding in some way. I still get exp for doing some easier slayer tasks.
Or I'm the case of magic and ranged I can safe spot and it's a chill so maybe I don't feel the power drop as much as ethyrial which is a lot more active? Idk I'll have to think more about it
We have 2 options to solve this issue:
-
give staff a ranged bolt like wands, which eliminates the psychological desire to get melee xp with a magic weapon
-
Make battlestaves & regular staves, the former which are meant to be used in melee and are melee weapons
Makes sense, def lmk what u think after a bit
As for the chill grind - its possible that we shouldn’t have the level difference limitation - just let people kill level 10 mobs for a few hours to work up their xp - we can think on this
i think lvling each skill should take time lol
I agree, but it seems the request is a way to feel a bit more control over the speed of leveling alternate skills
1 isnt a solution imo.
Just because the weapon is "magical" doesnt mean i am not doing an action of melee.
Lets assume i have a magical skinning knife. Do i not get skinning xp just becayse its magical?
im about to be at 2k hours and about to finish my 4th combat skill to lvl 40
first i did heavy and melee
So 2 then?
Wizzy staff
Bonker staff
As ryan mentioned, if we give options to accelerate a certain skill by gathering a thing from a slain mob, would this at all help that feeling of catch-up?
Idk how much I necessarily agree with this. If you are on a class that uses spells to level up, you are most likely interested in level up magic abilities. Staves requires magic xp to wield. I suppose you could give melee exp for auto attacks, but then you can say the exact same argument on the opposite side. Why am I not gaining magic experience from attacking with a magic staff? I want to level my magic faster! I'm a wizard!
Within the paradigm of the current system, sure. But to me that system doesnt make sense
Well, if it fits in the paradigm of our system, that's good, right?
Sure. But im never playing that because the underlying system makes no sense
Can i use a magical ranged weapon and level ranged?
So if i cast a spell using a bow. It levels my ranged skill?
i dont think so
Even tho im not firing the bow
the ability increase comes from the spell
Correct.
And so if im hitting with a weapon. Forget its designation for a second
If my action of bonk is dealing melee damage. What am i getting better at?
It aint casting spells.
What am i getting better at?
magic
By hitting somebody with a staff?
yep
I mean I agree with ryan, could be that either we give it some special attack that is either a ranged bolt or just "magic" damage
How can hitting somebody with a weapon not be melee?
that might help it align
Theres no incantation. Theres no utterance. There isnt any invoking of the divine or demonic.
wizzy staff - bolts
bonk staff - bonk
gandalf is not incanting when blasting saruman with his staff. In fact, they are hitting from a distance
the boys leveling magic
and dont argue with tolkein!
What I'm more concerned about is the friction with the prospect of leveling a different class back up if you don't have the aligned discipline and/or armor/weapon stat. If the majority of people do not want to engage with that prospect, we need to figure out a solution. I just need to figure out if that's the majority of people or not
i think MH already does that tbh
once u have a high lvl char with best in slot jewelry and trinkets its easy to lvl up other combat skills
enchants as well
Have a window of time where I can give some of my thoughts, will give more later. To preface this, I absolutely think raising skills SHOULD take time, I just don't think they should take the equivalent time it takes to first raise your initial set of skills. The Relic system is one of the strongest aspects of Ethyrial IMO however I find myself never using it because I don't want to redo the same exact grind all over again.
Few options here, some more heavy handed than others, if there's a possiblity for adding "catch up" mechanics:
-
Have a purchasable (with gold to help with the gold sink issue) consumable (potion / food / self buff, doesn't matter, untradeable / undroppable) that you can only buy once you reach a certain threshold in your "main" skill. Can be 30/35/40, whichever you feel is appropriate. When this buff is active, you'd gain increased combat and armor experience by a certain percentage. Doesn't work in a party so you can't "cheese it". You could even make two separate consumables, one for combat and one for armor. Lasts for x amount of time and grants y amount of increased gain. Just to give an arbitrary example: 20% increased combat / armor experience for 1 hour. It would also only work until the skills caught up to your highest skill. So once any other combat / armor skill reached say, 40 (whatever you highest one is), it stops working. Numbers could be tweaked for desired outcome. This is my favorite suggestion, personally, as it solves multiple issues at once (gold inflation, party play, exp catch up). Could even require them to be crafted via Alchemy to incentivize leveling that up (or cooking, whatever flavor you decide).
-
More heavy handed approach: Something akin to the heirloom system added in Wrath of the Lich King. I personally think this would be too heavy handed as it would also eliminate the gearing aspect and give a permanent buff, but you could make it insanely expensive to offset this. I don't really like this one to be honest
-
Have enemies drop learning manuals or some lore-centric item that you consume to gain a chunk of exp in the combat / armor option of your choice, basically a mini book of knowledge. More or less what you described above Ryan. I think this is just a good addition and makes grinding feel more interesting since you'd be excited to get these.
-
More combat related tasks on the task board that allow you to choose which combat / armor you wish to apply the reward to. This way you could farm these with your strong skills / set and then buff up your lower sets. Similar to MH books basically, just another avenue.
-
Make Boos of Knowledge not scale as harshly for lower level skills. It doesn't have to give the same amount as it would for your highest skills, but right now it is a pitiful amount and just a waste IMO
Sorry, forgot to actually reply to your message so you'd get a ping @wide jay ^
I would also be interested in hearing actual anecdotal data about time to level a new discipline/armor wearer from 1-40
My first one took... 9 months and about 1100 in game hours. But the first is always slower.
I've gotten leather from 34-36 in around a month or so. Not putting any books into it and wearing it for every activity.
I could just be mega slow or bad though
As i understand it a lot of folk just cheese the system with the enchanter so it might be hard to get a good spread of data there
never heard of that
Enchanter pretty much has infinite sustain.
Find a few mobs. Stack em up. Stormshield+clarity+piss stream 4 lyf until desired level reached.
Enchanter not really best for that to
1 of the lowest dps in the game
Yes i know about the tech
Once again discipline easy armor and weapons take fore ever
Probably has to do with only needing 25 discipline compared to 40 armor.
A priest doesn’t even need mobs to level armor
what do u use to take damage?
The heal isnt it? Damages the priest
Levelling armour isnt dealing damage though? Simply mitigate and heal thru incoming.
I think it was Minyo or heinous that told me about it.
true that's clutch tech
Infuse health. It also procs any on-hit effects, such as dlp weapons, on yourself
Can either use infuse health on an npc then heal yourself, or just get two priests with as much constitution as possible cast infuse health on each other on cooldown
Would probably be reasonable if you just couldn’t get combat exp outside of combat
that could work, something to think about
Beter system was old lvl 1 armor type and be done whit it
you'd have nothing to do when u come back in 8 months
Alternatively, instead of determining if you get exp from fighting a mob from your character level, you could determine it from your item level
Then jf an end game character equips some copper armor, they can go fight spiders for exp
Wouldn’t speed up the leveling at all, but it would solve the ‘feels bad fighting level 30 mobs in level 1 armor’
def something to think on
what is the minimum armor that feels okay to fight a level 30 mob, and how fast can you get to that armor if you are level 30?
Well i already dont intend too lvl anything else
Got 40 light 40 magic
one of my homies never intended to farm cerberus 8,000 times but he ended up doing it over the last 10 years of OSRS
once upon a time i said i'd never play anything other than a lock, then i played BM hunter in epoch
This are farming goals to
I got max in 1 armor set and 1 magic type so il just only play classes that use that
Q: have you only played the same class in GW2 in the last 13 years since it released?
Necromancer pretty much
But gw2 setting up second char is easy peasy
If you have main decked out and enough gold its like 1 hour of worl
for the setup do you mean exotic gear/items or ascended?
i suppose you can swap ascended items if they are the same setup - power/condi/etc
but that's kinda like ethyrial too
if you want to hard swap to a new build or character for fractals/raids you still have a bit of setup time to get full ascended items
Questing, rewards, and content that requires you to level those to obtain
If you see a bunch of people going into a Mage Guild and there are meaningful general benefits of it, and you can’t get in, you will be motivated to level it eventually
Exotic which is only 5% less power the ascended
But i can clear most content whit exotic
In ethyrial its farming low lvl mobs for no Rewards
can we not have the 'data collect' pop up everytime we launch after we've said no before?
Would also be awesome if we could 'skip intro' on new characters, i.e the whole sequence of the two statues talking, and talking to the first NPC where he asks if you want to participate in a combat tutorial.
We can check this - didn’t know it wasn’t saving the choice properly
The skip should be within the chat with the NPC - you’re saying even before that, immediately after spawn?
In character customization
Could add it as a longer term goal - will throw in Jira
It's a minor qol for new characters, doesn't bug me much if it's not immediate nor will it bug many other people that it doesn't exist
just thought i'd mention
Honestly, not a fan of low level craft/tier rates. They take way too long, especially introductory-style items. Good way to make players not want to pursue professions when low-tier profession actions take so long to finish, like redban paste. Not that it dissuaded me, but might others
Would love to see reduced rates, at least to start with for low-tier items, I'm sure there's ways to improve craft speed - i.e redban paste 6.9 > 5, copper bars 6.9 > 6, copper gear 10.5 > 10
It's minor, but would definitely making grinding professions not like... completely time consuming
also 3/3 of every copper piece of armor for this village task, are they THAT worth the time to do that?
it's fairly long to start, but does speed up with a lot of sources of craft speed progression as you level up
will feel slow in the short term though
all goes toward making the payoff feel that much better
What methods exist to increase the speed, as the trainers don't explain this to you? I don't think
some professions also have passive methods, i.e. tailoring/leatherworking convert into fiber/leather passively
Hmm neat
nothing is really explained directly in game atm
tbh our team is very small and the game is funded so far out of pocket by myself, so the current goal is to keep injecting content and then when wikis/information sharing matures, it'll be much easier for any player to get info about progression
Honestly, whatever you can explain ingame would be nice eventually
Also, personally not a fan of weight on items. Typically games either limit you with infinite inventory size, and weight on items (like Skyrim for example) or limited inventory, and no weight on items (WoW) I've never found both to be a fun feature, as why limit already scaled inventories with less room for items via weight
current most effective plan for this is the Guide system, which will work like the RuneScape skill information system
But that's been my thoughts on it
I love dragonwilds!!!
and osrs
sounds good
L -> Guides is the placeholder tab
hmm not much here rn
Is there a hammer for craft speed at the forge?
as i know pickaxe etc provide gather rates
Speaking of inventory management.... Quest rough ruby from jewelcrafter and one you mine are considered different, odd?
for sure, just placeholder atm
just isolating untradeable quest items from normal
Honestly, I see no reason to make items that you can have drop OUTSIDE OF quests have quest-specific versions
i forget the value but as an alternative you can dump the ore to steve o jacksson and then buy copper armor
Would be cool.... but I want to level bsmithing anyways, at least, if it's worth having maxed in the endgame
mainly bc u get them gifted for free, but yeah it'd be a low economic impact to use normals
crafts are required for most bis slots, so it's always worth it to level
do you have to level it? not necessarily bc u can trade with other people too
but it's good to level everything for self sufficiency
The rates for selling copper, and price of copper armor are almost worse than just afking and crafting the items yourself
Especially if professions are that important, you may as well level
ehhh i just dont know
if u want to min max the game, i would suggest to power level up to level 7-9 and then farm bears NE of farwood on the sliver
they hit the 9+ drop table and give silver coins
then u can buy up whatever u want asap and go giga chad
then when you go to bed, queue up a shitload of copper, iron, or steel and wake up to the next tier
or when u hit the gym, xmas party, etc
Odd to me you want systems players intentionally don't engage with while they're on the game though, realistically it shouldn't be anything that STOPS them from playing for x time for too long
That's why I don't think egregios craft times for mass-craft heavy items like Bars work well
For actual equipment, sure, make that longer, but bars? Make em shorter
point heard for sure, many people have requested a passive smelting system like LW/Tailoring which we may add
bump
Stopped back in to see what's changed. This is still a bug. My bow still has Umbral Arrows showing as an active buff after logging in and out.
Wierder still, Umbral Arrows takes 50 seconds to enchant now? Was this intended?
bug as a result of being overencumbered atm
will be fixed up next server patch
Unrelated to hating ethyrial (I don't), but was there a patch / server update today? I haven't been on. Any ETA on the next one?
not yet, still wrestling with server side code - no ETA just yet

Is this where i say what i dont actually like and give a suggest?
or is just a community thread?
reading the old mesages, its seens is the right place to complain, ok its here
Things that i "HATE"(i deslike and could be better) about Ethyrial:
yes, roast us!
- Processing Items
I dont see any reason you have to process items, waste A LOT of time, to just gain nothing from it.
It could have be different, following like a survival game, the Stations to process those items should:
1 - Give EXP based on what you have processed, the amount, being fair and reflect on your effort.
2 - If we are using stations to process items, we should do it for all, use the Stations as a "machine" to process the items while we can adventure, do quest, farm, just what we would do in a survival. SO WHY I NEED TO CREATE 1 BAR EACH TIME? WHY BARS NEED TO BE 1 BY 1? (Caps is to highlight this part)
So, to sumarize, if we are doing something, we should do it FOR ALL, if we are using Stations/Machine to go for the "passive"(like most games with survival do) you do it FOR ALL PLEASE, DONT DO IT HALF.
If we are going to do it manually, so we do it for ALL, everything on Hand by the Stations, and if we are going to use Stations to craft passivily, SO WE DO IT FOR ALL. (Of course i am not talking about creating Equipment, im talking about All Materials related, such as BARS, THE BARS OMG! and things like Alchemy too)
(theres more, but i will split)
3 - And the second allow me to introduce the third, I HATE IT when i am AFK/AUTOMATIC watching my WINDOW because my character is STUCK doing NOTHING, only wasting time on a station (YES BARS AGAIN) but also Alchemy. Why waste time on something, to just let there AFK, without playing the game, like doing the game minimized, watching something, sleeping?. Is this exacly moment im crafting 45 Steel Bar, and what i am doing? WATCHING YOTUBE, WHY?
So, the game should be a experience about really playing right? Isnt the reason you bought the game? to enjoy, to play, to stop the old bad system (and you doing very awesome), so please, change it to.
No more Character stuck doing nothing, if we are using Machines/Stations, we do it for all. And while we put the "materials to craft" on stations, we could enjoy the game doing other things. You could even create a system to "improve" the stations time with Talents. Please review this thing to "watch" you chracter doing nothing, or just leave the game AFK, we should be playing it, so lets play?
4 - EXP is something really important, it literally means "Experience" and if you are not gaining experience on failure, when we would get it? We learn from our failures, so please give EXP on failures to. Also, just as someone said earlier about "exploit", i dont want peoples to crafting things WAY HIGHER, because i want to think like in real life, and you improve step by step, and learn with failures, so, Do not able Craft of things more then 2 tiers higher than yours, to prevent the possbile exploit, and let the game FAIR.
- The Crafting System Rarity and Levels
1 - Rarity , the rarities actually do nothing, they are just there to mean "sturdiness", and i really wanted to craft things with better rarity and see the item improving.
Monster drop actually give me more status than my craft, and if you say this will change later, so we should do it FOR ALL, not only "later" we are players since LEVEL 1, so we should have it since level 1.
I already had sent a text about this rarity and what could be better, so will not write here again.
2 - The Levels, i also said it on the text, but, the levels should also be used for the rarity system, to get more chance to receive a better quality and improve the item, lets feel we are really improving, instead of "let it for later, the late game is better".
The hole system for Rarity and Levels is already on the text, so i will not write here again
- Status Points
1 - my first impression of the status points right now, is that they are useless. And the reason is because:
- You can't change it freely, so why they exist? you could use the status direcly instead, why have status if you cant use them properly? you cant CHOOSE what to do, you cant use them, if a Class should have a defined status, why introduce the Status System? just leave the atributes instead
- INT and WISD is also something that bothered me a LOT, because the int status have the same things from wisd but WORSE, wisd is way better in everything, the other ones are all different for something, but the INT doesnt have anything, is just worse.
And again, if we have status, and cant choose between them, or expend the points, why INT is the same from WISD but worse? INT classes will always suffer
just to make sure i follow, what do you mean by status points? INT, WIS, etc?
2 - Still Status points. I really feel and miss the possibility to change status points, and if we can't choose them freely, if the character will always come defined, the hole system doesn't make sense for me, let us customize our Status Points, the Classes is already different from each other, they already have different interactions, so lets us choose the points instead.
And please Change the INT so it can be different from WISD, make INT something related to mana regen, cast speed, mana max, those things, and WISD keep being, healing, magic damage, etc.
But INT NEED to be different from WISD.
yes, its the atribute, i call it Status Points because is how is called in every game i played🤗
- BLUEPRINTS
First of all, i love crafting things and dicovery, because i feel i am playing it, HOWEVER, i SHOULD learn playing, not watching the WIKI, so:
1 - Create blueprints for all parts, divided by tiers, and let the respective NPC's sell it, or create a Quest for it, for example: you learn Lesser Elexir, after, he can teach Elexir, and so on, for all NPC's and professions, let them TEACH OR SELL blueprints WHILE You play it, in a way you will learn playing on the right time.
I already like the craft by GRID, i like it, but we need to learn while we play, and not see on WIKI
- Quest Items
1 - some items doesnt have a tag "quest item" and if i had not searched on the wiki, i could have missed.
the Golden Necklace and Alpha Hide is 2 examples of it, i would NEVER GUESS i need to acquire those two, because the game doesnt teach me it.
Without the WIKI and DISCORD, i would miss those 2 improtant items, and i cant get them after doing the quest.
So is very important let peoples know what is a important item, or, give options to acquire those items that can only be acquired ONCE in a quest by another way (buying from a traverler merchant or something)
- Skill Usage
While i like being able to Lock in a Target and just use skills, i still need to have my Support Skills freely, i cant target a friend after using a skill, the skill will be used on me isntead.
So please, when using skills non-offensive, let the skill have a TARGET, so i can choose for example, Heal me, or a friend, isntead of the automatic target.
What i want is just an option to "Select a Target" after i press an skill, and CHOOSE when i WANT to TARGET.
Could be a bottom, and when i press it, the game goes from "Choose a Target" to "Use on this target", transform the Automatic Target in an option instead.
I dont like the automatic target all the time, or when i miss click an spell and them my character use in a monster far away
So please:
1 - Create an Option to change Between Auto-Target and Target lock to "Choose a Target" so i can choose when i want to lock, and when i want it to be freely.
2 - Non Passive skills be always Choose a Target instead of the automatic, and if i want to use a skill on myself, we already has the system for it, the ALT + SKILL, we already have it, so please remove the automatic usage from Non-Passive skills too.
And done, i think this is all i could say about my experince on those 40 Hours of playing.
i hope i did it right.
Also, my CAPS is only to highlight, not for Scream🥹
Just for finish, i really want to play and feel i am playing, i really liked what you did in the past year, wow, is so different from before, i want to keep playing it, and i want to se the new texture, art, models etc.
So i hope this will help in anything, i KNOW my opinion of those things could be different from most peopels, but i also know that the majority of peopels who plays an MMO, want to play it because they love being part of a world, they love see what they doing, and feel they are really doing it, most of my concers is about those "wasting time" system, thats honestly, doesnt give you anything, you dont play the game, you dont enjoy it, is just there, AFK, doing nothing.
And OFC, the Status points part is also because of it, i want to really play it, i want to be free and expend my points the way i want, if i want more HP let me do it, if i want more cast than anything, while i have less damage and less hp, lemme do it, but always, let me play, let me do what i love in a RPG, let me "Role Playing it" as the name suggest🤗
So, actually i want to share my feeling.
Every time i log to play, explore and enjoy, i do it, until i hit the "AFK" wall, so i need to let my character stoped and watch the Window, watch something, and just let there.
Is like im playing those game where i enter to colect the "Gacha" or the resource of the day, log out, and do it night again.
I really cant play with it, everytime i do it i lost my will to play.
I cant keep playing doing it, so i will wait for new on the Crafting Resource thing, and if we will have changes on this "AFK" mechanic, i am pretty sure much peoples dont like it, and much peoples probably left the game because of it, as they felt the RPG was actually a "Crafting Simulation", the RPG part is missing, i dont feel im playing it, is just there, AFK, and i cant
I really want to play more, but everytime i goes AFK i lost it.
So i will wait for now🤗
these birch trees friggin blow
these birch trees make me wanna swan dive off the tallest nearby bridge
they are certainly better than before, but yeah
Bok choy trees you mean
that is unequivocally false lol
more realistic to an irl birch tree? sure. yet everything about them is out of place in this game
nnono it was worse than that, trust me
for the system? bc the look was certainly more in line with the other aesthetics
either way, im taking that creepy ahh for now gif to heart
I hate how weak the hunter is, yet it's still my favourite class so far. God help me.
I knew this was going to be the message after I read the previous one in https://discord.com/channels/540514574462615552/1407747721665843292
I had to do it ahahaha

I hate the delay between being in combat to not after you kill a mob. LET ME REST! Is it just in case the mob gets back up and wants another go?
I hate not being able to play because i need to wait the Crafting system[AFK/Processing] change, i wanna play🥲
I hate that when I stun mobs they continue turning and tracking me. Shouldn't be able to spin circles with a concussion.
To clarify, this is the monster rotating to face you while staying in place?
Yes. Like I stun them and go to run behind them, it continues to turn to track me. I don't think Ethy has any kind of backstab bonus, so it doesn't REALLY matter. But it would add to the visual feedback that they are still stunned if they'd stop that.
well stuns are silence(sometimes disarm)+ roots, so makes sense they rotate
See, but all stuns are a silence, but not not all silences are stuns. If it says stun, it should stun. Like I'm not asking for a animation where they get all woobly with a daze symbol over their head, I just want them to stop ninja aimb bot tracking me at however many miles per hour when I hit them on the head with a hammer hard enough to "stun" them for 3 whole seconds
I hate the fact there is still no housing and building
Game doesnt have a Comestic/Transmog tab
(On the new character models we could have a 2nd tab for cosmetic slot on player equiped gear to equiped cloths work as appearence only)
Not for weapons though, as it seens the game value weapons appearence (legendary gears).
But i want it for Cloths
I would love to see this introduced even just for a handful of equipment slots. I got the demon horns off the one boss in LoE and I would love to have those on all the time. But the set bonus 😭
Let us mog hats and capes
we may have something like this but not 100% sure yet, something for later after the new character
i would personally like the terraria system
cosmetic tab that you can slot armor into
This would satisfy my hunger of always wearing a pointy wizard hat
bump
Glad the game is still being worked on Sad still that as far as I can read there have been no changes to stop potentital trolling and bullying in PVP going to turn off notifications as each one is just another dissapointment.
what?
(#general message)
hasnt ryan stated mutliple times that there will be pvp and pve servers?
so that scenario doesnt exist
where was this stated I happy to hear that but I never saw it
@wide jay can confirm it
just re read my personal message from ryan that said there were no plans that would fix my concerns that was way back in May so things could change and I have only been reading updates
Thank you saying something
i remember him saying there would be 2 servers
when game releases but dont know if still correct
the end of that message mentions pve servers
right that is why I linked it it was my bad for waiting for an update and not searching for my issue. Appolgies
no worries at all - pvp server is the current state so we can see what kind of degen stuff needs to be accounted for with fresh servers
I hate that hitting Flame Revenants with a Silence or Stun during their Magma Ripple doesn't cancel it. It has a cast time, but it acts like a channel. Would make them slightly less tedious without totally invalidating the mechanic. You'll still be half or fully dead if you don't catch it within a tick or two.
if flame revs has a million haters, then I am one of them. If flame revs has ten haters, then I am one of them. If flame revs has only one hater, then that is me. If flame revs have no haters, then that means I am no longer on earth.
Yea they are very annoying. The cast is quick and with the general lag of inputs it feels like a 50/50 to interrupt. So many times I've stunned it but it then starts blowing up while stunned.
I can just swap to duskbow to make it easy but it's still annoying. It's also strange to me that it's really the only elemental that is this dangerous. The rest are no where near as threatening.
Like I feel like the tech is just switching to Brawler since I'm a melee baby. On Warden I'm just finger hovering over my Shock while spamming Spirit Strike and Rage without touching anything else until I see a cast bar. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In fairness, I don't think the Silence on Spirit Shock is correctly triggering on 2 stacks right now.
mob spawns feel really bad i cant see more then 1 person at a mob spawn whit how long respawns are and how few mobs there are
if flame revs has a million fans, then I am one of them. If flame revs has ten fans, then I am one of them. If flame revs has only one fan, then that is me. If flame revs have no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth.
You would say that, Mr. The-Reason-They-Nerfed-Kiting
bump
can you skip the lvl 20 alpha cloak buff straight to the lvl 30?
no sir, it's sequential upgrades
thank you :>
Why is this in the Hate thread though? Were you going to hate it if you could skip? Haha
huh? I swear I put it in general lol
🤷♀️ haha
The Velkun quest board doesn't reward a Book on completion of killing 55 raiders. Chuwwi, Rekonsile, DoubleD and one other person all did it but we didn't get a book and the reward was underwhelming. Maybe a boost to the xp and drop table so that we can have more casual group activties.
i do need to hook you up with your book, i gave them out to the others this morning
i also added a book to the task as well
dude thats awesome! thank you
bump
i hate how the dlp bow doesnt have dmg% compared to other dlp weapons
I **hate **that the armor set bonus from crafted sets, dungeon sets, etc; are all 6pc or nothing set bonuses. Should be 2/4/6 pc bonuses with the big defensize being at 6. It would make mixing and matching feel less painful, and immediately make armor itemization more interesting. Also, would allow for future expansion of interesting smaller 2/4PC sets, or single items with individually powerful effects. Or even just wearing a cosmetic headpiece like the demon horns from LoE without as big of a penalty.
Or even 3/6, first 2 current bonuses at 3, big defensive at 6.
this is why we swapped it up for BOC
could go back and do the lower sets but not huge prio atm
There's been a lot of mention of expanding lacking itemization options. Would probably be a good time to tackle other sets, when you're wanting to start that process. ESO leverages 2pc sets a lot, and it's something I feel would work well here. I was reading through the MH feedback, and my immediate thought on some of the head items was "I'd never use any of these in my current armor, because I lose every single set bonus."
The biggest 'I hate it' moment of the past 100ish hours has been the lack of transparency in and around tooltips. especially for things like infuser pets. Looking through the chat history, a lot of people seem to have no clue how the pets scale, or if they do. some people thought it was strength, and then maybe con? But as an infuser, shouldn't the pets scale off the main stat of INT, unless they inheret a portion of the caster's stats. If so, what percentage? Is there a scaling formula somewhere?
If they scale off some other stat other than INT, why? That means I need to carry around a full second set of gear in case I need to resummon my pets so I can snapshot those values. It seems silly, when THE BIG THREE: Unstable Infusion, Infusing Bolt, and Leyline stream all scale with INT + ARCANA.
Additionally, Leyline stream says "Gain Mana and Arcana Healing every 2 seconds". The pet tooltip reads "Heals over time". I know it DOES impact mana over time as well, but the tooltip is missing it.
It would be nice to be able to see how much damage a spell does, or heals, or how pets scale in the tooltips.
Also - it would be good to know if physical + magical defenses scale somehow or if they have stock values.
The monster hunter quest algorithm is really irritating as it stands.
I'm level 30. Got a quest to kill level 43 mobs which I'm unable to do.
Paid quest rewards to reset it.
Get another quest for level 40+ mobs.
So you're in a cycle where you're burning your quest rewards in the hope that you'll get a doable quest. Makes it really, really tough to actually progress the track.
Update the algorithm to be something like "monster cannot be higher than 2 levels about player's combat level" or something so at worst it's difficult but feasible to do
this is a common issue, i think bc both the level 30 and 40 variants share the same name "Satyr" when there are 2 types - normal and vilesworn
you never actually get quests outside of your level range, you just hit the one confusing group
we will fix the naming for next patch and distinguish Satyr and Vilesworn Satyr
also the level 30 satyr are north of Rime to save you a trip to the map
Appreciate it! Sorry, I'm a bit grumpy today 😅
Certain quests having broken counters that don't properly save if you happen to logout(Horvath), wish there was a button to force a recount. Interested in knowing how the quest counters are programmed.
Farald is more effort than he's worth for any of my ranged classes, so much longer than the other fights and prone to just get hit for half your hp even while running directly away at full speed. Even with my limited keys I'm tempted to just not enter frozen portal. I feel like air boss is a bit easy on ranger/hunter, fire boss is a good difficulty with interesting mechanics. Not being able to 1 phase farald just draws the fight out. I think he should just enrage after his first stun wears off and still be damagable but not with bonus damage. Keeps the threat there and allows you to chip him down without waiting another 90 sec hoping he doesnt roar / get hit by 1 frosty boi + slap combo
Yeah kinda what i said about the fight becoming bad when not able to 1 fase
ideal kill time is probably around 60s to 120s per boss kill and then sub 60 with nice gear
do most of the bosses fit in that range except farald around 180s if not 1 phased?
Yeah
When you leave an instance and spawn in the portal, move to rest, but re-enter the portal with low mana and low hp but can't heal due to potion lock
we could do a CD on re-entry maybe but it could get a bit annoying
could there be exit coords where you spawn a little bit away from the portal? Like 1-2 tiles in front of the portal?
This would be a blessing. Especially since sometimes we spawn on the wrong side of the portal and have no choice but to re-enter, exit again, and pray
If we are fixing the dlp portal could my character spawn facing the correct way so I don't have to flip my camera around?
that'd be nice for sure. I think right now when you enter the camera faces the same way as when you entered. If it could default to facing north, for dlp at least, that'd be nice
Well default for whatever direction would be "forward" for the portal you enter. So going in faces the bosses and leaving faces the door. I think all portals have this issue except the few that already line up properly.
