#Quality of Life Items You'd Want in Our Game (Think Quest Rewards)

repair kits could be cool, sold by the blacksmith at extra price compared to his repairs for the convenience.
though i guess pricing it would be hard because of the varied costs :/ or have them tiered, i dunno, i just hate having to return to farwood for repairs.
Could be based off of the repair material value with a multiplier.
other idea is 'frog goggles' - highlights all gatherables with a nice green glow
i will never stop suggesting frog items
i was thinking some kind of "gatherer sight" ability once you reach a certain skill
like, skill 15 herbalism gives you an ability that makes certain types of plants highlight so they're easier to spot
FiberVision(tm)
Herb Goggles
Sight for (s)Ore Eyes
etc etc
some type of reward that allows you to cross 1 hex wide waterways. doesn't come into play too often, but often enough that i feel like that 1' wide stream is absolutely ruining my day
sOre eyes got me
hahahaha
more ways to reduce leyline stone cooldown
more unlockable travel points, possibly tied to lore or classes. would be neat if there were nature-ish places of power or arcane places that nature/arcana classes could teleport to, for instance. different travel points for each discipline.
SPECIAL BAGS PLEASE
gathering tools that do special things rather than just a flat % reduction in gathering speed
pickaxes/scythes that give an extra tick of gathering
pickaxes that give increased chance of gem drops
skinning knife that lets you skin slimes/demons for an alchemy reagent instead of leather
cooking utensils that give a chance for more yield
things like that
perhaps limited to one or two quests so no one player can collect them all, giving a sort of specialization feel to it
but just in general, tools that are some kind of horizontal or diagonal progression rather than straight vertical
yeah im not looking for power progression here
i'm stuck at a pokemon tournament with my fiance for like 4 more hours while i sit in the corner and play on my laptop. i'll keep trying to think of qol things i'd be happy to see.
I'll pitch the coin purse idea again here. Permanent quest time as a reward to hold our coins? Maybe post level 20-25 so people really appreciate being able to free up bag slots.
anything that helps with bag space and organization
OH
special bank tab that has designated spots for all the gathering profession materials
please
Or, bank placeholders we can manually place in our existing tabs.
So that items quickstack back where we want them.
think like PoE currency tabs, but for gathering
t1-t8 alchemy catalysts
Stat herbs
t1-t8 fiber
t1-t8 cloth
t1-t8 ore
t1-t8 bars
etc etc
Maybe make it a right click withdraw option, place the item, "Withdraw all and leave placeholder"
yes, i keep withdrawing all but 1 item so i can quickstack back to my bank. this would be a wonderful qol thing
i would fight van barehanded in the middle of halloweentown for this
+1 poe styled tabs
I'd be happy with either suggestion here for bank tabs, tbh, but I also don't think that's necessarily what Chisme was looking for. Unless the special bank stuff was enabled as a reward via a quest...which would be cool. But correct me if I'm wrong!
well, it's QoL and could be a quest reward
there was no example so we're just throwing stuff out there lol
chisme give us an example
You right. I'm just stuck on the items part lol.
But! Another idea: Weapon Holsters. I'm stuck on clearing up item slots...but if gear load outs aren't going to be a thing, I love that you can wear a 2h weapon in your cloak slot. I also won't give up the stats from my cloak to do so. But I'd love to be able to look all geared up, weapons from my other main loadouts displayed. My bow for my ranger on my back while I run around with my Wardens bonking utensil out.
This would be tricky since it would have to basically enable extra, strictly cosmetic item slots via an item...which idk. Could be a stretch.
bank tabs are supposed to be a thing that your sub will increase
i will sub for a gathering tab rn
lol
huh, that's interesting
Idk about Barahart, but I specifically just want to be able to leave a ghost placeholder for an item in my existing tabs (or the future ones I would 110% pay for right now if you guys would let me) so I can set up my bank organization and quickstack shit.
we are goblins that need to collect things so anything that allows us to hoard things in an organized way
i think that would have to be a bag slot or some extra slot though
trying to think on how to make that an item
I like the gathering tab idea too and would also be okay with that being paywalled lol
but
i was going to suggest gear loadouts next ๐ฆ
I lack the system dev knowledge, but I figured the same issue would be a thing with the coin purse idea.
Beautiful brains and all ๐
speaking of goblins
maybe some quested pet that loots corpses for you
i would like this QoL
Fuck me. An actual Loot Goblin. That would be a cool implementation of auto loot. I'd like to see a long, involved quest line for that though. Powerful otherwise.
trying to think of more things that are inconvenient and how they could be changed to improve my mental health lol
Oh. I have one. Can we have another quest from Van, that extends the MH rewards slightly? Start with purchasable trinkets that have a % chance to extend or hasten your MH tasks. Basically a % chance to either count a kill as two or not count it at all. Have the quest let you pick one of the two, or maybe give you a base trinket that you have to buy upgrade items for from Van for Writs before it gains that functionality. Make the base trinket give you a small amount of All Stat or some small % of additional MH experience
i'd settle for a MH rank where he gives you a choice of hunting tasks
feels kinda bad when he gives you one for enemies that resist your damage type
Quest reward wearable, visible backpacks as a back piece item would be cool as a quest reward. Maybe just additional carrying capacity without the extra bag slots?
extra capacity would be nice too
Leyline reduction is planned.
a mount bag would be cool. Maybe something like you need X amount of unique mounts to get it but that way you could keep more on you without it eating into your inv too much. Plus the bag itself could be a flex either by linking it or wearing it.
a toolbelt that you can store all your tools in. Could be a chase item too, like if you needed all eternal tools to get the eternal toolbelt. Same thing as the mount bag. Chase/flex item + qol but not so good everyone has to get it.
a pet that auto loots (probably too op cause it'll just be required to get)
a pet pops your food/elixirs/mana/hp pots automatically. mana/hp would be below a threshold you could set, the other consumables would be when they expire. Probably too op too
some dungeon diving games have npcs/pets that can send loot back. That could be neat but also has other repercussions that maybe just lower leyline cds would solve. Same with getting items remotely from storage
a "home" leyline stone maybe too. Allow it to attune to a certain city that people vibe with. A longer cd that the normal one but a nice way to get back to wherever you want to setup shop
Swapping gear while changing classes is tedious. It's not an item so much as a wardrobe feature though.
seconded. i would love to be able to set my leyline stone somewhere else instead of just the nearest one
Items that let you repair specific tools without crafting station.
Buyable for a daily quests currency, like item to repair pickaxe - Simon Horvath, sickle - FRIEND.
Not sure about skinning knife.
gib
a clicky item that turns me into a grimbear. just a straight swap to the grimbear model. but specifically the very large one of that rare spawn grimbear. the giant one. no equipment shows, i'm just a big grimbear. all grimbear attack and cast animations.
i believe this is QoL because i think it would improve the quality of my life.
i would also accept a clicky item that turns me into an actual bear. it can be a normal sized one.
Expanding Loot Window
With all the talk about auto loot (yes please, sign me up) and bots, one QOL I would like to see is an expanding loot window. Even when in a loot party, you can basically only see 1 item, the last item that is green or better that came off the last mob that you killed. This is alright for some slowbies, but is problematic for tanks and peeps who don't like to immediately click the "need" button when there are still enemies around to kill or for those few of us who use two hands on the keyboard. If we can't have auto-loot (I would prefer auto-loot) then can we please have, for the love of baby jesus, an expanding loot window that shows each item green or better so we don't miss the actual loot we want to need on vs loot we are happy to pass/greed on. If you are still thinking of bots, then put a need/greed/pass for each of the items or something.
[uncommon] Used Frog Pyjamas [need] [greed] [pass]
[rare] New Lillypad Mount [need] [greed] [pass]
[uncommon] Suds' Lost Sock [need] [greed] [pass]
[epic] The Apple of the All Saints [need] [greed] [pass]
Agree and we need auto loot
curious if an item/talent that prevents your gathering being interrupted would be too OP?
could be conditional e.g. only if your 5 levels above the mob etc.
also (technically not QoL so apologise for off-topic) cosmetic stuff is always nice
not just gear but if you can tint/apply a glow to gear or add flame effects etc.
Combat logs, for the People
This may not be the first time you've heard me talk about it, but it would be glorious if we, the people, could get some better tools to test the game mechanics with, especially with how combat-focused most of the game is. To this end, I would like to offer a suggestion that a QOL combat log be provided so that we can test damage output vs opponents with the various weaknesses and resistances along with the tooltips and skill descriptions. Currently we are guessing if we are hitting +20% more vs mobs weak to element x and damage type y. This is not helpful for reporting what might be a bug in the damage formula or understanding why monster z is not taking any extra damage.
We, the people, would appreciate a combat log in all its detailed server lagging glory!
- Jasc, For the People
Talent granting item, "Experimental Stirrups", talent granted reduces time to mount by 50%. Make it drop from wild horses or maybe something higher level. Make it a secret. Idk.
I've seen the suggestion elsewhere and it being an item you have to farm/earn/find would make it neat, so I figured I'd put it here. Maybe a bit beefy for a Talent, but if it's what the people want?
Time to mount you mean?
Lmao yes, ffs ๐
