There is a disconnect between the player (who knows all about the radius and the altered from the first game) and explorer 73 (who knows nothing, had his home erased, and had his memory wiped.) so all the talk at the start of the game, explaining stuff the player already knows, just feels boring.

1- Some people may have never played ITR1, or its been ages since they played it. Better to explain than not to.

2- literally no way to avoid the disconnect between player and character, really.

Explaining things that new people wouldn't know to a character that also wouldn't know them is like absolutely basic narrative design.

Not everybody is an itr superfan.

my main argument, was that nobody should be playing this game before the first game, which upon further reflection, is stupid, because 1. you had to go out of your way and maybe play through the game multiple times to understand the story of ITR, and 2. there is a valid reason to play this before ITR1, which is the multiplayer.
