Having some crazy performance issues during this new beta. It's been steadily getting worse and worse with each update, and I'm starting to wonder if it's my PC or if it's just the game. Makes me wonder how the devs can even test out their game without running into these problems...

Here are my specs:

processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900H (2.50 GHz)
RAM: 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
GPU 1(?): Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics

Headset: Quest 2, connected to SteamVR via Quest Link w/USB

In-game settings are all set to Low, resolution is at 85%, and foveation is at Widest. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Are your power settings set to maximum performance? Windows 11 has been super annoying with giving out updates that change lots of settings.

From what I've read, turning off random anomalies helps with performance

# wide fern I will check when I get home, much appreciated

It's also wworth noting that laptop gpus are ass and cpus are typically underpowered in them.

If it was able to run the game fine at those settings but now can't since the update that could be just the effect of all the new stuff in the game, new anomalies new items populating the world etc.

Type power plan into the windows search bar. Even if your set to max performance you may get thermal throttling, especially with a laptop. So make sure laptop has plenty of air flow

#

Itr2 still needs optimizations, so keep exceptions in check. The pcvr version of Itr2 is a lot for a 3060 laptop, ar least currently

That's another thing, when was the last time you dusted out your laptop?
i did this for th efirst time ever with mine because i didn't know the procedures and the heat sinks were utterly choked with dust, i mean zero air flow

#

i would install hwinfo and make sure you're not thermal htrottling

#

like i opened up the thing and dusted it out before but i never removed the fans and did a pROPER cleaning till a few months ago and what was there was horrible lol

#

i'm now not surprised a lot of people don't know how to dust out a laptop properly cuz i didn't

i've dusted my laptop around...when i replaced my RAM, which was i think around three to four months ago

#

should probably do that again soon

#

it was right before the ram prices skyrocketed cause of the stupid AI stuff

It's a known issue for 1.0 that will be addressed shortly after the stable release
