I have the same issue, on the quest 3. magnified scopes are almost unusable. The framerate drops to like 5 while using any of the scopes.
My reddot scope and those seem to work find, it's just the magnified ones. Including the PU scope. If you have a quest 3 just load the current beta version and put a PU or the sniper scope on one of the rifles, like the mosin, which is the one I was using, and try using it in one of the maps. It'll tank the performance horribly the second you pull it out.
I took the scope off my gun and put it into my backpack and the performance was perfectly fine
