I love the Mimics, the way it represents humans in a twisted way is awesome. The design is awesome, but i feel there's something missing with the Mimics that would make them so much more threatening : Personnality.
The fact that the Cop yells "You peasant !!!" feelt like he's fricking angry, racist, and wanted to shoot my ass down so bad. I'd love if they give him more voicelines, like insulting the player, yelling orders to freeze or to put his hands up.
Same for the other variants. What would be the best personnality trait that would make them agressive, deadly, and unique from one another.
The soldier should be the mindful one, like cold threats and tactical talk.
For the shotgun guy, i think give him a sadistic, almost psychopatic hunter vibe would be best, it would make him more creepy and make you feel like his new prey. For the sniper i thought not give him too much voicelines, since he's quite far anyway. Plus, the silent type would be best, like "Got you..." or short sentences.
And it would be better if the AI reflected that mindset (and gameplay wise it would be better since you'd have to adapt) :
- The cop would rush you up to close range, to the point of reloading right in front of you like a moron.
- The soldier would be methodical and stay on medium range while taking cover when reloading.
- The shotgun guy would try to flank you up to medium/close range and shoot you down only to run away to cover for reloading.
- The sniper would stay perched, at long distance, well in view without moving too much because he has the high ground and his bullets hurts like hell.
