I point blank shot a fragment with a core in the face and that crashed the game, no other crashes occurred from the two hours of playtime so I am decently confident that is what caused the crash.

same issue for me. playing now. 2 barrel shotgun causes crashes super often like every 30 seconds. selling gun, unusable.

Are yall with shotgun crashes using the long barrel or the short barrel version? I had no crashing issues until swapping to the long barrel, myself

i had the same experience. the 2-barrel shotgun was fine for like an hour or 2, and then CRASH. and then it crashes when reloading every 5th or 6th round, to the point where i spend more time restarting the game than playing. i am selling the shotgun and not using it until a patch that fixes it. it's basically an anomaly that has the power to crash your game at this point. i came to the Discord expecting this to be a very popular bug report.

so it turned out i had time to hop on and test after all and i think i figured out the shotgun issue, at least for me
i found that I have a tendency to randomly crash anytime I'm reloading from a shell holder on the shotgun, but by only reloading by pulling containers from my backpack I've been able to play a solid hour blasting away without crashing. But when I switch to loading from the shell holder on the side of my shotgun, I become prone to randomly crashing either when I shoot an enemy or as soon as I next open the menu
I have no idea why that would be the case but it makes sense, I added the shell holder at the same time as the long barrel, before which I had zero crashes. It also could explain why it 'works fine' for people for a while but once they add a shell holder it starts crashing.

i always immediately add the shell holder to my shotgun so it started crashing as soon as i got it pretty much. ill try using it without the shell holder and see if the crashes persist... tomorrow

I wish I could say the same. I used the stock holster and removed the handguard. It still crashed.

also by stock holster do you mean the shell holder that goes on the stock?

i played a lot yesterday (maybe 6+ hours) and tested the shotgun extensively, WITHOUT the little shell holders that you attach to the barrel/handguard area. no crashes when using it.
