Since in itr1 1.0 we had reflector anomalies, distortion anomalies, sigils, and the hated (never really bothered me) lighting anomalies and ofc more with itr2 but we never really had a fire related anomaly.

Looking back at beautiful light I remembered that there was a fire anomaly which as the name implies it would set fire the surrounding area and I thought it would really cool to have it in itr2 or maybe not who knows.

This anomaly in beautiful light acts exactly like the electric cubes we have in itr2 aka they follow a set path

If we ever will have a fire anomaly in ITR2, i'd like for it to be like a constantly bouncing anomalous gas tank or something like that

Now let me explain what is going on

#

So we we have this anomalous gas tank right, and it constanly bounces around, in a set path, or just at random

#

while its in the air it lays a trail of fire on the ground, which when stepped on will burn you, the trail does dissapear after a while

#

It'll probably burn you for a little bit, and a fun gimmick could be is that of there is a lake or something near by, you can go in the water to extinguish yourself

both regular and blood water

and now everytime the gas tank bounces, it'll leave a large splash of fire on the ground

#

same thing as the fire trail, it will dissapear after some time

#

Now every anomaly has to react to probes right?

this was the part that was the hardest to think about

#

Now I'm not totally set with the idea but I was thinking is that when a probe hits the tank, it will stop moving and just bounce in place for a while

#

But like the main thing that this is supposed to do is make it so you cant cross across a whole area

you will have to take deliberate paths around the trails to get to your location

Yea im set on most of the anomaly ideas except for how it interacts with the probes

I still dont know what would be a good interaction

The anomalies are hard to make interesting

There should be different types that don’t damage you

Like forming a wall infront of you or smth

Something like the shadow hand in don’t starve would be really cool

The main form of interaction would have to be with the probes

I just don't think it should be as simple as, you throw the probe and it stops it in the path

See the main thing from ITR1 that I didn't like about anomalies were that only a handful were affected by probes

Anomalies like the web and the haze and the scythe weren't affected at all

#

And that's maybe because we had infinite probes in one pouch so you could just spam them everywhere

But now we have a limited supply

Maybe like, you have to throw multiple probes at it, and every time you throw a probe, it gets more and more unstable and closer and closer to like blowing up, and then when it does blow up it leaves a large splotch of fire on the ground

So essentially it's a way to basically get rid of the anomaly, but it would cost way more probes than normal

A fire anomaly would work well with the colour pallet of ghost town ,but ao far it just seems like a reskin of previous anomalies.
