#Controller pitch for Reverb G2 is wrong
40 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
you can see the difference in angle between the 2 laser pointers
its making the game unplayable and I need a fix
I’ve noticed this issue too. It’s been reported since last summer, yet it still hasn’t been fixed
Devs dont have any reverbs so thats probably why
it wasnt a problem in the first game though so this claim loses some credibility
plus the controllers are almost identical to oculus touch controllers which this is also an issue on
Same issue here, even worse controller angle even
They also had a angle slider for controllers in the first game didn't they?
Yes they did
Since you also have a g2 do you mind if I ask you a question? My controllers seem to pitch left by about 90° regardless of my game. How would one fix that?
I wonder if thats something OVR could fix
OVR?
Its like this little toolkit of VR stuff that lets you change a ton of stuff
I'll need to check but I think it can do controller offsets
I will look in a second
So no I was wrong it doesn't unfortunately
Damn
Is there a fix for this yet? I just started playing the game on my Reverb G2 and have a similar experience. Hands/Controllers are tilted down by about 45°, when in the Steam menu, laserpointers show the same misalignment.
Read somewhere online, that you could fix it by taking over a line from the ITR1 settings .ini to the ITR2 file, but that did not work in my case.
I have the Pico 4, got the same weird angle, but fortunately for Pico 4 there's a Steam VR extension on github that allows controller position/tilt configurations in Steam VR. But then this presents a problem, being that every time I play other games, I'd have to remove the configurations. I wish we will have in-game configurations like in beat saber...
What's the name of it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3SFZvZLVBo&t=1s I followed this one
unknown to me, a tool to adjust controller positions has existed for quite some time and has recently been updated for new streaming assistant versions on pico 4
if you are wanting to correct the controller positions of your pico 4 or Pico Neo 3 Link in steam vr games using streaming assistant or Pico link software- notably the Display port mod...
So no Dev reaction to this yet?? This bug is borderline gamebraking for me. It's very uncomfortable and feels very unnatural to play like this.
Isn't reverb G2 wmr?
If so it's Microsoft's fault
No Idea how it is implemented per App.
But due to some points I would dissagree with your assessment.
- The G2 controllers work fine in the Steam VR "Cliff house"(what ever it's called). Here the orientation fits 100% to the real world controller.
- G2 controller orientation worked out of the Box for all other VR titles I play.
- If you have ITR2 open and go to the Steam menu, you can see the "laser pointers" from both the Steam menu as well as the ITR2 menu. They do not align nor are they anywhere close. The Steam VR one goes to where i expect it to go, the ITR2 one is tilted downwards. (There is a screenshot by OP further up that shows exactly that) By my estimation it is by the same amount / angle as the hands are tilted downwards.
- In the ITR1 settings file, there are a bunch of offset values for pitch angles for many different controllers, each having different values. There was also a slider with which you could dial it in. So the problem should be well known to the devs.
I am on a G2 and never had this issue.
True but steamvr is what sits in between openvr / openXR and the headset and since itr2 is oxr only I wonder what's happening under the blankets
Ohhh nice observation for #4, then in that case it's probably gonna be fixed soon or at least make it in the 1.0 release
The issue seems to be known for a year now according to some of the comments here. It seems like such a low hanging fruit, since there was a setting for it in the first game.
But I am no VR Dev, so what do I know...
If only copying the values for the ITR1 settings file would just work 😅
Welp
The new steamVR update should let you fix the pitch now
Steam VR 2.12 update has just dropped, bringing a whole host of fixes stacked up over alot of Beta updates that have happened in the last few weeks.
this video covers the one feature I'm so happy got implemented in the way I always hoped it would and seemingly successfully pushed for ( what happens in the dungeon stays in the dungeon- if you kn...
Uhh thanks a lot for forwarding this. I will try it asap.
If that works, especially as a per Game setting, that would remove the necessity to have it in the game settings.
Yepp tried it, IT WORKS! Don't know why this was made possible only now, but anyway problem solved.
Here's a before and after with config values for Pico 4 controllers for reference
thx i might copy your settings
Got to try it out today and I can confirm, it fixed it for me.
For my Reverb G2 Controllers I had to adjust by +25° on both. Now hand position and aiming feels natural. The laser pointers of steam and ITR2 align with this setting.
I published the custom bindings if someone wants to use them.
