I'm a part of the Bonelab(SLZ) community and I've been hearing the main dev (Brandon) basically (relatively) nonstop singing the praises of IOBT. I think it could make managing the inventory much easier and you wouldn't have to do so much estimation for the player rig.

And for people who can't do iobt. (Literally everyone on non quest devices)

Tf is IOBT?

#

I had to go to the SLZ discord to search it up, because Google was giving me all kinds of random uses of the same acronym

#

It means inside out body tracking

#

Would be nice if OP put that in their post

I thought he was talking about transformers

ah, so just a quest thing pretty much?

hazy bramble
#

It sounds like it’s just a quest thing, but idk

#

I’m ignorant on quest

cobalt blade
#

me too

#

though i am hoping for at least hip tracking eventually, im not exactly hopeful for it

I bought a groin tracker from Ali Express…

#

Was not what I expected

id reccomend not trying to cheap out when it comes to trackers, it never ends well

#

i tried slime trackers, didnt work

#

well, they did work. just not well

Every once in a while I’ll see if there is a cheap haptic device of some sort

#

Beacause I don’t want a full haptic vest or anything

#

But I think it would be cool to feel the vibration of gunfire, for example

unreal coral
#

its baked into the quest 3, and itr2 is in early development, we already had a hotfix to help with issues related to the body, I think IOBT would help a lot

real quartz
#

They could just add body tracking in general

#

Which would be great

unreal coral
#

And I agree that FBT in general should be added too

real quartz
#

It may, or may not

unreal coral
#

I think it's worth looking into, especially if it's not that complicated to implement

#

I'm sure the systems needed to implement it are similar to those for FBT

If Quest can handle the conversion from iobt to fbt (I'm gonna guess it can do that, cus why wouldn't it be able to) then you have it

unreal coral
#

I hope so

Yeah that's what he said

#

So no promises and don't expect one

unreal coral
#

Still I think IOBT or even just FBT would be a worthy addition to the complex and detailed inventory system the game currently has

#

Right now it feels very jank and difficult to work with

I've got an old mk3 smle 303 rifle, firing that doesn't kick your shoulder but you can feel it push you. VS my 12 gauge single barrel (we nicknamed the water pipe), firing that feels like someone swinging a piece of timber into your shoulder.

I’d be interested in a simple haptic strap if:

#

They were cheap

#

And if they actually were programmed properly like the haptic vests are

#

The problem is that afaik, they aren’t programmed (to feel gunshots or damage, for example)

#

But are rather just set up to convert audio to vibration

#

So it’s just a constant mix of vibrations

#

🤷‍♂️

#

I turn off my controller haptics because they just suck

#

Not only do they not add to my experience
