#Warn players in mission description that a mission is a multi-parter

Pretty much what the title says. If a mission has multiple side objectives that need to be completed, relay this information to the player in mission description so the player can prepare accordingly and avoid unnecessary backtracking and frustration.

Example:
Find and retrieve Pecho Plush from compound.
This mission has four steps/milestones/sub objectives.

Completely agree! Very frustrating when you've reached the third point to find out there's an ultimate fourth point but you've used all your syringes.

I like when the mission is unknown. And I really appreciate missions like "scouting", when you need to visit multiple places, and you don't know where they are. It always ends with some real surviving I didn't know I am able to.

Contrary being prepared in advance removes the spirit of adventures.

For me the unexpected part was the real fun, so the warning would kinda ruin the point 🤷🏼‍♂️

I get that, I agree we don't need to see all the waypoints, only the first one, but I personally didn't appreciate not knowing how many steps there is because it didn't make sense to be sent somewhere and not have the information by your employers, and have the surprise you have to go another place when it was already quite the challenge because of all the spawned enemies.

In a way it felt more "gamy" than it felt adventurous and immersive. It's probably another topic but I think the way they spawned systematically many enemies at each waypoint feels forced and unnatural, and it breaks the immersion for me

Hmm. Perhaps leave it as a difficulty option. Or just be vague about it: "This mission may have multiple steps"

Moreover, there's a lot of multi part missions that really SHOULDN'T be something you have to so in order.

See: Every probe activation mission.

"I was just there, man! I could have activated it 10 minutes ago!"

I'd rather it go "You have to activate these three" instead of doing them in order

Forest Scouting taught me the hard way to be careful of my missions
