yeah, this is not a bug.
They pause before jumping, shoot them then.
yea a quick lil guide is to keep your gun aimed at them and shoot them when they stop to jump at ya
and keep track of them
lol ye they clearly tougher than in itr1; that delay when they stop before jumping seems a lot shorter too and they appear to deal a lot more damage that what I remember; will prolly be better once we get -custom again pls- difficulty levels
Also, I swear they wait and group up together so they can all ambush you at the same time. Like, sometimes they'll all just run (roll?) at you as soon as they hear gun fire, but I've seem them run and hide and ambush later.
Yeah they are actually quite intelligent now. I walked into a house and one was camping the corner and jumped me. And yeah they seem to work together and form groups, I've even seen them flank and surround me.

Crouching with the controls and crouching irl makes dodging them easier.
Sprinting helps, if you see it stop just before it lunges at you, sprinting to the side will usually get you out of the way fast enough.

In my experience, regardless of whether or not im sprinting, they'll get me anyway, let alone if im holding my shotgun, or if i have more than 3 items in my bag. Shooting them before they can jump is basically the only way to avoid taking a lot of damage
I think they need a bit of tuning
agreed, they look cool as hell but either need their damage decreased or use the same attack profile as the spawn from ITR1, which would justify the damage they deal.

from my experience they seem to lead their lunges, even if you change course as they're flying at you they still hit you, I suspect its down to hit boxes being jank or my fat ass not moving fast enough.
tried that, cant physically duck fast enough because my legs are fuckin shot
pressing the crouch button yields no results

spawn often come in groups, and a fiddly db shotty is a death sentence
yeah some stuff is a bit scuffed, I see the logic behind the new attachment trigger method, but I was thinking they could use the two seperate buttons to turn on each attachment type individually instead of the janky offhand trigger stuff.
i dont so much mind the tuning flashlight attachments on with the offhand manually, its just this one little gripe
it makes the shell loops borderline unusable
I also miss the ammo saddel for the felony shotguns
so i just do the classic itr1 trick of putting loose shells in my pouch

I'm 100% in the camp that they should stay. Cranking down the difficulty violates the spirit of the game. I want to be terrified of them.

I totally agree with you, but there definitely should be easier options for people who want them.
They have a half-second window of sitting still before they aimbot your head. Its usually enough to kill them, but you gotta be perfect with your shooting. I don't mind the difficulty honestly.
Agreed. We just need difficulty levels, and I'm sure those are incoming.

it doesnt violate the spirit of the game to make an enemy not guarantee hit you every time they get close. you can shoot them before they get to you, but they move very fast, and with this game, for whatever reason i cant quite put my finger on, the way you handle guns in general feels a bit... floaty? slow? sluggish. to me, idk if its my controllers, there seems to be a bit more floatiness to the general control
One time I instinctively tilted my head to the side while also strafing and it must have offset me just enough for it to whiff right past. 😂

just keep a tree between you and them and they can't touch you
TREES!! 🌲 🌳 Trees is their demise! Just hide behind one and violate the damn ball of scissor to your heart's content. I'm surprised there is so little mentions of this strat.
Out in the open vs swarm of them you pretty much screwed, the speed of jump is insane, I would not mind if they actually lead the target and gave a bit of time to dodge.
