Hey guys, picture this. You are having fun exploring a building. You hear the most annoying voice line "Can Max Come Out To Playyy?". You think you are going to send this abomination back to the stone age with your trusty F1 Grenade. You pull the pin... and toss it! And Great job! You killed something. It was Yourself... You only killed yourself. And that brings us to...

                                                                                        Grenades:

RGD-2 (Blind Your Self) Basically useless It just spews out smoke I have never used one and I don't even think it helps you.
RGD-5 (Lesser F1) This is a poor mans grenade, Not great but gets the job done.
F1 Grenade ( How Did I Die?) Best grenade At killing you and nothing else.
VOG-25 (Why is my weapon condition yellow?) This is good and you probably have a abundance however your weapon condition and health is not worth it.( it fires out of the Russian grenade launcher)

                                                                                          Scenarios:

I'm surprised you are still reading this. Have you not been convinced not to use a grenade yet? Well these are only good if you can throw... I can't, try to use grenades to clear a house. ( I fail every time) But these are sometimes the only cases. if you have a grenade launcher than you can try longer range targets. This is where I leave you off but remember...

UPDATE: Grenades have a use! they now can "kill" the zapper anomalies

best part about grenades is the fact that they (from my experience) do absolutely nothing against armored enemies.
altho I know few places in the castle where they are useful. Never been able to toss them right from first try but eventually they solve the problem of 'hidden' enemies

hot tip for throwing stuff like grenades in vr if you dont have a fancy pants tracking system (this is from a quest 2 user btw) stand sideways and throw with a weird mix of QB and pitcher

#

ill badly illustrate on my laptop in a second

#

Badly made guide hope it makes sense, ill make a video of myself doing it at some point

#

wait i cant im a minor

#

ill show a legal adult how and consentually record them doing it

releasing 1-2 usually ends up with the nade on the floor in front of you

austere slate
#

huh

#

usually it works for me

#

if i can keep the controller tracked

weak mulch
#

I think when you release depends on your VR delay, usually really inconsistent and its why its so hard to throw

austere slate
#

thats the hard part

#

yea

weak mulch
#

Throwing at 12 is usually best to compensate for delay, or underhand toss

austere slate
#

keeping it tracked the whole time (if my understanding of how the computer does it is correct) lets best get your path of throwing, because (once again if the way i think it works is correct) i think it knows the controllers velocity when tracking, so as long as you are tracking the final part of your throw you should be good but the whole time is better

#

i just gotta test the limits of tracking

IRL these are called defensive grenades because you're supposed to use them from behind strong cover like a trench or bunker

#

Best use I've had is for when I attack the Castle since they clear out large groups of enemies trapped in hallways or rooms

Thanks guys you even taught me something

why grenades kill you through the walls tho?

Rn I don't have much use for them since I'm in security level 2 rn, so I'll sell them or chuck them really far then shoot the enemies attracted to the sound

The only time I ever bought a grenade is when I was trying to get SL5. I only used a grenade when I was out of ammo, not realizing that I had 150 9x19 rounds in my bag for my M9 and when I went into the shooting range for the first time, otherwise I have never grabbed a grenade in the radius with an intent to use it. I just sell them for some extra cash

I wouldn't say the gun mounted grenade launcher is good. you need to be at quite some range so you don't die. the problem with it is you basically need line of sight to shoot it, because it is a bullet basically. everytime I used it it has severely damaged or killed me and the thing I aimed it at.

I like how realistic nades are, but the fact that it spawns a million different projectiles makes it really difficult to wanna use

The grenade launcher has been useful in a pinch for me, but never have I had a situation that I thought "oh yeah this is my best option"

#

Usually for me it was used when my mag was empty and I was facing an armored enemy that my (at the time) FMJ pistol couldn't handle

#

I will say, I've had a really good opportunity to use the F1 in my current run thru of the game. There was a room with 2 seekers and, more importantly, 2 armored police, and all I had was Buckshot and fmj 9x18 on me. So, I tossed a grenade in, and it splattered the fuckers

#

All that was left was one seeker

#

But that was a very niche situation and I got pretty lucky I think

#

I've also heard rumors of grenades taking out lightning anomalies

vivid turret
#

they do

#

its been proven

#

the thrown ones can destroy them

#

Cool

Ima have to test that

I wish we could release with trigger

A note about throwing in "Into the radius", since you are in VR there is no physical mass to the object you throw IRL [in real life], and the path that your hand traverses determines the spline path for the start of the throw, and if it is a curved path then the release time in conjunction with system delays can produce an ambiguous final path. A simple workaround is to avoid a curved path, e.g. when throwing a knife, try an underhand throw with a linear [straight] path and get used to that and you can increase your accuracy as it is easier to predict the final path regardless of system delays or underhand/overhand throws, the same can work for other objects, just by avoiding curved throwing paths.

I don’t get why people hate grenades? i personally love em, saved me so many times and I haven’t died once thanks to them.

grenades are a great tool for dicey situations and ive gotten great use out of carrying one or two on me. but they do consistently damage me thru solid cover. thats all that bothers me.
