Download one of the pinned linearts of the dinos of your choice, insert the downloaded png file into any of the softwares that you have such as mspaint or paint tool sai etc. Make a new layer and put it underneath the png image then colour it in c: (The magic wand tool might make it easier to colour in precisely inside the lineart without having to worry about erasing unnecessary strokes outside of it)

This is by no means something I put much effort in, but the general concept for a micro skin to me would be dull colors that blend in, and maybe bright flashy feathers for the males. The scales would also be very bright too
Because microraptor is so small, it would rely on stealth and speed, and its unique gliding ability to get away from predators.

Since I got on the flow I made another one: Microraptor concept based on the wallcreeper. The real bird has sexual dimorphism in the coloration of its neck so I decided to include both

Why would a lizard try to look poisonous? Chameleons look slightly less colourful when theyre relaxed but amp up their colours for communication reasons. I wouldnt say its unrealistic because it exists in the wild. Its the same with birds of paradise who would be closer related. Colourful but not trying to display their poisonous

I started this one yesterday but didnt wanna post it since I already posted a couple and today I saw a few details I wanted to adjust.
This is to show of the possibility of colours in females! This is the Labords chameleon, gravid and receptive made into two palettes. The males of this chameleon is completely green with a single white stripe unlike the females who look like the the ones pictured. Females does not always have to be the dull coloured ones 😄

How petty am I from a scale of 1-10? We need to stop assuming dinos were only the same colours as large mammals because we are just too used to see them to imagine something different sooo I assigned myself a task to make concept skins of some of our larger lizards starting off with the Conolophus marthae.

3rd set of colourful big lizards! This time green iguana! There are so many morphs in captivity I would have to create a bigger set to cover them all and all the colours. The adult individuals in my reference are wild so don't @ me about it lol. But yeah, more colours in the iguana being more of that rusty red, red, brown, orange so theres many palette alternatives here 😄

i finished my first skin and am happy with it. this idea came in mind after i herd of the discussion that dinos wouldn't have vibrant colors and i wanted to make a compromise between color and camoflage. it's still kinda just brown, but at least some bright spots lol
