i talked with a friend of mine about iguanadon skins, and we were talking about them being horse-like in the realism server we play.
and we think it'd be awesome to see any of these horse coats become Iggy skins!

Ahh ok, so There is a certain brush I have found that has juuust enough randomness to help break up the shape a bit. I use that brush with the size turned up to get the shapes, then erasing back if need be. Ill get the brush for you on a few if youd like. Also, if you have a gently shaking hand it helps

I just don’t know how oro make natural looking skins. This was my second to third? Not sure how many. At making a skin. Like I copied it but it looks wrong. There’s some slight changes.

I use a Wacom tablet. And I would love a new brush. I’m really trying to do this right but art makes me cry lol

hmmm yeah ok, I think part of the issue is youre staying too close to the reference. Sometimes with, especially blended out skins, they dont always look right on the model. You may need to stray a tad from it to make it look right in 3D. Here is an example of an alberta I have done recently. Using different ways to get the stripes, and making them jagged looking. I had to stray a bit from the requested design on the second pattern

If I had done solid lines that are not jagged it would have looked unnatural and very painted

I would suggest with the black that you colour in the whole bottom half with it, blend it up into the body, then erase down to get that outline of the white stripes. It helps sometimes working backwards

Yeah the JFD Yang was a completely custom colour scheme created by myself for the JFD Yang, which a lot of people have then gone on to use for various repaints
