Am I the only one that would like an official perma death with normal group mode. Where you can only have 2 characters at a time? Because it would significantly lower the chances of people run back on a different Dino mid fight. And if they add the feature that is on test branch to let u know where a lot of dinos are it would be very survival able

I actually like it without grouping. When you actually group, sound plays a more vital role in keeping track of fights/chases.

Then again there are still group advantages - you get to see your friend's name floating around and have access to group quests one upping a solo player again

For the next major patch we will be disabling Solo / Solo Perma Death from the matchmaking playlist.

• We'll working on this mode and making changes, and will be bringing it back in the future.
• We are planning on keeping your character data for this mode around until its re-enabled. This means your characters will not be deleted, and when we bring these modes back they will still be there for you.

We have some new features we want to test on the regular Official servers like the high density player indicator on the map, which will help solo players avoid large groups.

This survival matchmaking thing is a great idea. But I think a few tweaks could make it way more enjoyable.
First off, since players are spread all over the map, the server cap shouldn't just be 200—we could probably push it to 300 without any issues. Also, I feel like permadeath is a bit too harsh. It’d be better if you just lost two growth stages instead, like dropping from Adult to Adolescent. That way, players get to keep their hard-earned Marks and unlocked skins.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that quest items are pretty scarce and can be a pain to find. There should probably be more of them scattered around the map, especially if they end up bumping the player cap later on. It would make growing back up way less painful and keep the gameplay feeling a lot faster. What do you guys think?

I'm looking at my replay from survival/permadeath and there were two organically-formed coalitions of juvis in the same area that congealed just because they shared a diet (all herbis/all carnis) and worked together as a group:

The herb group was a lamb, two albertas who were possibly playing 'together' but ungrouped, and a campto, whereas the carni group was two allos of almost exactly the same age and who started hunting together

The lamb and allos ran into each other, sized each other up for a minute, before a fight started, only for the two albertas and campto to intervene (WHILE THE LAMB SPECTATED 💀 ), and after a few minutes the herbi group drove off the allos with both of them narrowly escaping with their lives
They kept their distance afterward

I have a suggestion for the survival(solo permadeath) Servers, just remove the home caves, it's even more realistic if Dinos would not be able to just run into a portal to a save Zone, you don't even need the home caves, you can change abilities while sleeping anywhere, Trophy's don't bring much growth, passive growth is also active, if you die there is no home cave safed anymore, so it's unnecessary to decorate it with Trophy's or buy stuff to decorate it, so I prefer to deactivate them, so Dinos cant flee from fights into the portal homes 😉

I’d like survival to allow 6 slot grouping

A: it’s easier to moderate, because there’s 50 different reasons why 2 or more people would be near eachother in solo but only a handful for 6+

B: a lot of the dinosaurs rely on group mechanics and in solos and especially perma they don’t have them

C: a solo player vs 6 slots worth of dinos is more winnable than vs 12,

so as an example you’d only be able to fit 1 4 or 5 slot in a group, and only 3 2 slots, it would be a really nice spice up on the gameplay especially with permadeath involved

Today I was on 4 or 5 different survival servers to find a fresh one, not remember all, but most was 3 h, then 2 h and the one I played on was 1:30 h, all had different weather's too, so there are a few different survival servers. A system would be nice if we can't rejoin the same server we was playing on for at least an hour ? Or a bit less maybe, but enough time to prevent revenge killing completely.

i dont think grouping is banned or even really that discouraged. they say to play normally, which dinos will group together naturally. mixpacking/megapacking is bannable in group matchmaking test, but it doesn't specify that grouping is banned on this matchmaking test.

IMO the organic groups that pop up from players running into each other and temporarily forming a loose alliance are fine and part of the game (and enhance it as solos working together briefly can enhance the experience) - it's the mega and mix packs using their numbers to go after everything they see that are the problem

So like 2 carnivores or herbivores staying together for safety is very normal, but 4 rexes travelling together with a hatz and sarco is not

And it depends for herbivores since herding behaviour for safety is generally expected if it's logical, depending on the herbivores (e.g. one adult eo/deino/bars/stego/iguano and some smaller or younger herbivores with them), but they can't have too large of a herd before they have to separate for food reasons anyway

this is just feedback but :I am sub adult 4 bars hatz at a sit for 15 seconds mossy rock and, a not even alpha dynamo in 3 hits did half of my hp. While i was sitting, for the quest. Does this not seem a little crazy?
