in that case either avoid the biome, or go in and punish as many as you can before dying

at least then you are doing everyone else a favor by taking one for the server

i get pvp is the only fun thing to do in the game rn, but just mass killing using numbers when the majority of players are solo is just scummy

even if you die you're helping the server then

by culling the group's numbers

organic in-server teamups are unavoidable (and fine IMO), but breaking up match-made groups and discord groups by solo-mode being hard to match together already helps a lot

Listen I’m a solo player too. I get it. It suck’s dying to a group. But the reality is, I could do exactly the same thing if I wanted to. It’s fair in a survival situation to up your chances of survival. Being in a group does that. I can’t blame them for doing it, just got to adapt

Id also recommend doing some recon when you enter a biome

even as titan I will scope out an area before I reveal myself

if you see another solo, stalk them for a bit to confirm that they are solo and not part of a group

if you are a hatz you should be doing aerial recon before landing

I almost died to a solo conc, hatz, and ramph but managed to bluff my way out to safety

I had like 1 hp after my bleed healed and literally waited for enough hp to heal back to get out alive

I bluff people with my stamina all the time. Pretend like I’m out and make them chase me while bleeding

I love conc just cause lots of bleed then the second things get bad u can run or swim away it’s great

titan cant as easily flee to water from a conc compared to an achillo

conc + meg teamup is a menace

although old meg would have been way worse

I miss old meg just annihilating people's stamina

it was fun to pair meg with someone slow and just have the meg harrass a faster dino until they literally could not run away

and then the slow dino slowly approaches them and 1 shots them

actually no it wasn't fun because I was never on the giving end of that, only the receiving end

Not many things can escape a conc by swimming unless they r semi aquatic

personally i go for raptor strikes bc it doesnt cost stam and you can use it regardless of whether youre pounced or not, plus bonus dmg if pounced

its just dangerous to not have stamina when you unlatch

We need a pure hardcore mode built for experienced players, for example stronger bleed, more dangerous bonebreak and of course permanent death

the issue isnt people grouping up when they meet a friendly player in game

the issue moreso has been the discord groups that plague regular Officials (and community servers tbh too) hopping on as big 4-7 player groups

but theres only i think 2 servers active at a time for Permadeath

and not enough people regularly on the game mode atm to warrant more

so those groups dont get scattered out joining

since it’s basically either you have a chance to join server 1, or 2, and find all your buddies

if we had enough players to warrant more servers, it would scatter em out more and theyd have to take longer and more tries logging in and out to group

Yeah after that corpse closest to the upper lack was removed, seems it died as a hotspot. it put the closest corpses a Shark corpse out of the way down by the ocean below the lower lake

And a large coprse along the mountain path here

Swamp and YG are WAY better now after the TLC tho

Swamp had no freshwater

And YG was basically Darkwoods 2 but super flat until going up to GP

Most luck for people seems to be either of the spikey ones that do the reflective bleed damage (the defense? one with the sails has no reflective damage type at all)

one does more knockback the other more .. bleed or attack as a whole?
but the knockback one would be most useful if relying a lot on KB moves

Unless they plan to remove other diets from the other 2 big apex carnies (so help me god i will riot if they alter Spino's diets)-- Tyrannotitan should really have scav, even if its just carrion and no bones or anything else.
No large predator in any setting is gonna turn down a perfectly good corpse when they come across it--- and Alderon removed all the easy access corpses on the map and the others you have to go out of your way to reach and find. And while Im sure the idea is its much more long pursuit predator-- the other two need at least a lil boost in damage output and tankiness (esp where spino is suppoedly the "tank" of the trio) to make up for what they lack in the raw stam & movement

Honestly, compared to The Isle? This gamemode is super easy by comparison. Food is very plentiful, even if it gives very little back. Growth is measured in 1 to 2 hours versus 3 to 12 hours. Fights can be won with skill or map knowledge for hiding. The main issue we're seeing is the inevitable: people grouping regardless. I can't help that 2 lats started following my titan after I tried to kill the sucho they were on for food. Lat gives no food for a titan so I ignore them unless they attack.

Is this mode worth try? Never tried to play officials, because of kos players and HUGE mixpacks, which aren't fun for me, especially when I prefer smaller fights

FPS and descync : Yeah, the isle is very very buggy. I don't have issues at all with PoT but I know some people do (I have a good computer, just not good enough for the Isle apparently ^^")
Starvation : I know herbis have food everywhere, but you might have more issues with a carni. If you play a small one, AI are very long to kill for not much (excepts crabs, on the beaches), if you play a big one AI will give you almost nothing. Although many carnis now can eat bones or carion, which helps very much to survive (also, permadeath has a LOT of critters)
Mixpacks & hackers : Well, I don't know much for hackers, but I know some people still play together. We can't group and dinos who benefits from grouping can't anymore, but they can still help each others. Tho I didn't have that much issues with those so far, probably because I avoid hot spots

Hmm, it's not really my play style. I either play ambushers or scavengers. I know people have a lot of fun with Hatz, Campto. I know metri is fast with a lot of stam and seems to be able to defend itself quit well (they have a healing ability, too)
I can't tell for other dinos, but it seems to be a good place to start.

Just know deinonychus and latens are very fast but can't really fight anything. They have been created to be play in a group, so they can't do much on solo (still fun tho imo)

As much as I like it, the game mode will die off then. People play path so they don't have to deal with that in Isle. The whole "losing a little growth is better than spending hours to die to megapacks" thing.

If something is called solo, then regardless of what people say is intended, it's meant to be solos. If you have apexs grouping up in VC to dominate, it defeats the purpose.

I don't mind dying at all. Part of the game, but if it's because there's 4 to 5 dinos teaming up in a solo server, that's a problem they should try to address.

those people are essentially the reason for the login debuffs, one per species limit, and character deaths preventing you from logging back in nearby, no idea why they disabled that for the "solo" modes though.

and yeah you're right. way back when it was just panjura, there were a lot of people using alts to grief, i'm talking literally having like 40+ sarcos set up in one lake per account.

there was a particularly infamous person (at least, to me) who i actually had a chat with and they explained to me that this is just "what they do". they have massive groups dedicated to griefing, exploiting, cheating, you name it.

granted i have not seen them again since all of these mechanics have been implemented, the problem has now shifted over to random, mostly unorganized discord groups just annihilating server populations with sheer numbers

i really cannot imagine being a new player and trying to enjoy the game the way it is right now, where it's either ride out the dead edges of the maps and never get to actually play, or get swarmed to death by endless groups

Or end up forming up with the mega packs so you don't get left behind, and with every megapacker's thought process being "whatever it takes to dominate", it'll never change. Just get worse until the only people playing are the mega packs. On officials, anyway.

An idea that even I don't like that I had would be to stop incoming damage with any other players/groups you're not already engaged in a combat timer with. This sounds great in theory until you get players abusing it by keeping someone "bleeding" before a fight starts to allow them to run away.

The other obvious solution is the devs need to crack down on it. Takes reports in about it and start hardware banning people ignoring group limits.

And quests, which are not an enjoyable way of growing

RPG elements are pretty fun, most of the time, being able to choose between different builds/skillsets

I think it's becoming a game with a lot of minigame modes, the ones we got to test were really fun

and maybe having these options would send the pvp crazed players into these instead of normal slow growth modes

Having fracture can help against an Achi that doesn’t know how to use precision movement, but with the health decrease Pachy got, Achi hits VERY hard and I don’t use Kickboxer so I still don’t compete well against Achi. The new dodge is at least very helpful in escaping them 🙂 still definitely being respectfully cautious around them

the grouping is really annoying. its not EVERYWHERE all the time but i have seen several groups of 3-4+ patrolling the solo perma server, and they also will just bring a hatz in to finish you off as well if you do win against them.

The fear of death so strong people will call in extra people to help not die got them shaking in their boots. Its always good to assume if in big open area next to hc there will always be extras around.

A forest will help with hatzs, foggy events to help with running or escsping. If you get outbumbered or see an extra in the distance its best to let go and run. Even if they tiny bit of health

but there is actually a measure in place to specifically prevent joining your friends (though it doesnt work right now because only 2 Solo Perma servers exist so you can just keep trying to safelog one server till it throws you into another. can take anywhere from 1- like 20 tries tho lol)

Friends who are online in Solo or Solo Perma actually show up offline in your friendslist. Which removes the "Join Friend" button

Something that seriously needs to be added ASAP is AI detection systems as well as the AI not constantly headshotting the player.

Bush checks, crouch checks, so on and so forth, there is zero reason for a snake AI of all things to B line directly to me sleeping in a bush where no player would've even noticed me.

I think (guess) they used an older ai that always knows where players are as long as they are within their decetion range. It's how ai always used to work. Basically they are as smart as a computer, not as realistic as a dino. But it's a new feature and better ai might be in the works, who knows.

No grouping helps me significantly because nobody can get group buffs or call buffs or healed by lambeo or something, it makes it purely solo based gameplay, and by solo it means "no group buffs"

Midtiers dont get all for one, raptors dont get bark stacks, ceratopsians dont get stampede etc

I do agree however, AI needs a QOL rework, imo they shouldn't alert or run away from herbivores to give us slow guys a better chance at being stealthy

Additionally AI needs to start running away from you when low health, and needs to be affected by status effects, let me bleed out or stam drain the ai

Yh, I wish there were more servers so it takes more effort. The biggest issue for me is still being allowed 2 dinos. I hunt people and then see them come back to try and get me on their alt

a) you can't see your grouped friends, so if they chase and you cannot - you are forced to take extra time to find them and then the target
b) you can't see each other's health so you can't always tell when you're causing friendly fire
c) no use of any group-only buffs, including the group leader buff which is bs against any solo

I've seen people hesitate attacking thinking I am their friend because I have a similar skin, which also helped me win fights

I think we should get buffs for solo dinos, it would benefit solos on any servers including officials and maybe encourage not grouping a bit more

But it always felt that the game hates solo players, looking at my poor alio as the best example

and we're a very solid team, been though so many mmos, survivals and objective-based pvp games together

It shouldn't be compared to herbis, as they shouldn't struggle to find foliage in a mostly green world

This helps the ecosystem in the end, more herbis = more meals

Player bodies should provide much more food though, even juvis. It takes effort to find them or fight them

A solo apex can sustain itself on AI/salt in between hunts, a duo struggles a lot and I feel that it's justified considering how strong we are

Tbf though I play this like a survival, which isn't really the focus
