I don't think abilities and skins should be kept across deaths, especially because skins can be an excellent way of communicating to other players how long your dino has been alive. However, I would like to see marks rewards be boosted a little. It took me a couple hours to reach adult on my stego but 5 hours to fill all the ability slots. (partly because i walk everywhere for realism)

What’s the alternative ? Solo only when a large percentage of Dino abilities are group based ? People will always mix pack and whatever so you ain’t gonna fix that. And people still run around together on the solo mode. At least if you allow people to group in a certain way then maybe majority will play the game properly.

I wish you read my initial post throughly. If you die… you have a lock out timer of 5/10mins the same way that if you die on official you can’t respawn in the same area for 10mins. Now I’m suggesting that if you’d like to respawn immediately you will have to as a hatchling of the same Dino you just died on.

Depends on your dino and where you play, I find. Ano is harder at the start because you can't outrun/hunker/hit AI but, once you get your slam equipped, and get some size you're practically unkillable to most people who want to 1v1 but, Struthi, Rhamp, Thal are all super safe (compto too, once its bigger).

Some dinos like Kent are a bit harder because, if you just happen to encounter a sty or something that wants you dead, it's pretty hard to win that fight or run away

The placeholder quest system and lack of any sense of progression holds the mode back, but they'll hopefully keep adjusting it as time goes on

I think if we had an achievement system with rewards that didn't reset on death it could be more motivating to try again

And better quests besides collection and delivery

what if they just removed all the traditional quests, like collecting nuts or delivering flowers, and just made the newly added location quest system more rewarding? you'd always have a goal to strive for that isn't something tedious like looking for a certain kind of mushroom. players would be more spread out and passive growth would make stopping to hunt or do anything on the way to your next destination not feel like a waste of time.

It's absurdly good at taking advantage of larger dinos with baitable attacks, the velocity you get from Ripping Kick is the gamechanger

They need to combine all diets together imo. And as you grow up, you unlock new diets. For example: baby spino starts off with fisher, then at adolescence it can eat meat, and finally at sub adult/adult it unlocks scavenger. All of them combined into a single diet

my idea is a new screen, you get 3 food "slots" and can pick from a bunch of food types which can be changed per dino

so like pachy gets 3 slots and it could put bushes, nuts & fruit, carrion, bones or noxious meat, and combinding them in different ways can give you different buffs for keeping your food high. the buffs would NEVER be damage or armor, healing rate, stam, oxygen, stam efficiency, bleed & venom healing etc and there would be no debuff for not keeping your food high the only debuff is missing out

not less stam but just nerfing its ability to dive might help. since it's so fast on the ground could still run down some prey but would no longer be able to chase the lower slots via flying/move quickly between POIs so that running out of the one it's in can actually be a viable method of escape.

either way i think hatz as it is still ruins the gamemode, it can fly around and kill growing people with no penalty due to being able to fly away + grow at a much faster rate because of the speed it can do location discovery quests

can't really escape the thing that can travel between areas faster than any land dino could dream of so there isn't much counterplay besides hiding in trees and hoping it doesn't see you (not every area has a thick forest so it means avoiding all the open areas and being forced to do that because of hatz specifically kinda sucks)

as for clamp they could just make it use less stam but i swear every dino hatz clamps is either killed just as easily with peck or is so hard to catch it isn't worth it (most of the non juvies even survive the fall)

but that's just a hatz clamp issue unfortunately

Hats have poor air turning, bad stamina unless full flying build are super weak and heal super slow,…. I don’t know if flying slow should be added to that list of things.
