What would general thoughts be on death cost being a full stage? I feel like just 2-bars is too similar to regular officials, while not being as devsatating as permadeath

I personally had mostly a positive expierence with permadeath. Was lucky enough to only encounter a mixpack of 3 people so far. The only annoying thing was the usual Hatz players, but that flying rat is always a magnet for many wannabe bullies. Herbivores are usually pretty chill around other herbis and carnivores do the expected carnivore things.

But in general most people play less reckless than on officials.

Guys I think I got an idea for how to stop mix packing. So hear me out, what if when one creature gets attacked by one creature no debuff right? That same one creature gets attacked by another creature that isn't in the creature that originally attacked it's group. Both the creature that originally attacked it and the creature that attacked afterwards that wasn't in the group of the creature that attracted originally, get a speed debuff.

The Tail Swing has amazing drag, I use it sometimes. Its less helpful if your opponent has a lot more mobility though. I use it a lot against stuff my size and up, sometimes against Allos, Miras, Iggy

Tbh a Spino or a charge bite Sarco are my only concerns up there.

Spino can just stomp and bully me in the pond and heal on land whenever it feels like it, and charge bite Sarco, well.

No room to dodge now is there.

Other than that it is deep enough for me to avoid everything else I don't want to eat which has basically only been the smarter eotrikes, rexes, and bars

I've nearly gotten some Rexes but I've haad to back off every time because either they run too far inland for it to be worth me risking after taking some bites, or they land some really good head bites on me at the start and I have to retreat and let them drink.

I originally wanted to solo every creature in the game (yes even aquatics somehow) with a Micro but uh, Rhamph can't do damage so. Micro probably won't either.

you can literally fly around the map and be full grown in 1-2 hours

I like the buffed critter damage, but the buffed health and aggression needs to be tweaked. A lot of them are way more a nuisance than they are a challenge. Solo mode does a great job at immersion until an herbivore 1/10 my size starts chasing me for no reason while taking more hits than a rex.

Why Path of Titans Needs a Perma-Death Mode

A perma-death mode could bring much-needed tension and challenge to Path of Titans. While the game excels in its design, the lack of real consequences for death can make gameplay feel shallow. This mode would introduce high stakes and immersive survival experiences.

The Pitch
In this mode, death is permanent, and players must respawn as hatchlings. Key features:
• One character per species: Only one dinosaur per species can be created at a time.
• 10-minute death cooldown: Prevents revenge-killing and reinforces the weight of death.
• Persistent unlocks: Abilities and skins remain, but growth progress is lost.
• Realistic spawning: Hatch from eggs at pre-placed nests rather than appearing randomly.

Grouping Rules
• Groups are limited to the same kind (e.g., Alioramus, Daspletosaurus, and Rex) or the same species.
• Nested juveniles can group with parents or other adults for protection.

Immersive Survival
• Remove waystones and homecaves—survival depends on skill and strategy.
• Allow ability changes while resting for streamlined gameplay.
• Enable nesting so fallen members can respawn as hatchlings within their group.

Why It Matters
Perma-death would add real stakes, making every encounter and decision meaningful. It offers a thrilling challenge for veteran players while appealing to new players seeking a hardcore survival experience.

Nah I like current permadeath mode better. 1 intended creature at a time is just fine and reset skin/ability progress works perfectly fine too considering death is forever. A lot of these cushion the punishment of it a bit.

Only thing I agree with is that nesting could possibly be the only exception to allow grouping (only for same species) but that's it.

Growth is about the same except you gain some passive growth for just existing, which honestly does speed it up so much more especially since new discovered areas give a full minute which escalates that further. Honestly I've been able to get all my essential abilities by just running around to discover areas as a baby.

I see where you’re coming from, but I think the balance of challenge and progression is key to keeping the mode fun and engaging long-term. Fun happens when players are challenged, but not to the point where it feels punishing. Allowing unlocks like skins and abilities to carry over upon death provides a reason to keep coming back to the same dinosaur, creating a sense of progression even when growth resets.

Atleast it gives players something to work toward even if they’ve died. For example I might want to unlock every skin for a Dino on this mode. Most likely not going to happen in one life … but eventually, through constant attempts and lives it could be done. Therefore keeping people engaged and playing for longer than if I’d die and be stuck with default skins etc.

Also maybe make mela and albino skins reset to add a sense of real prestige
