For me, there's just a few things that need to be changed.

1. Add a debuff if two players stay within a certain distance of each other so it discourages grouping

2. Make is so when you unlock abilities on a certain dinosaur, you keep those unlocks for that dinosaur after death.

3. Maybe tone down the aggressive ai a bit

Other than that I think it's perfect how it is, I wouldn't change a thing besides these three.

It’s a bunch of losers on a power trip. They don’t have friends or influence in their own life irl so they bully people in games to feel a little tingle of self worth. They thrive in the “salt” because it’s the only attention people could possible give a person so absolutely plain and unremarkable.

They don’t care about the nature of the game, which is taking part in a dynamic player-run ecosystem. They only care about playing it like an FPS ego contest. Arguably the people who care about the game the absolute LEAST have the largest impact on changes made to it that come to the detriment of the people who truly want to play the game the way it’s meant.

All these mega mix packs, if they were to successfully kill the game and make everyone quit, they would just move to a new game and do it all over again like a virus and not care. Meanwhile, all of us people who truly care about it would lose something that really matters to us.

The way I always thought would be good would be to introduce a debuff of some kind for anyone who hangs around another player who isn't in their group for an extended period of time, similar to the home cave debuff. That way it encourages people to actively avoid people who aren't in their group unless they want to fight, or risk becoming a sitting duck, no pun intended

The only way to 100% prevent mix packing is moderation and probably community driven servers with passwords. But the problem with community servers is that there way too many modded dinos now and makes it almost impossible to find someone from your own species in game.

If you run kick, I highly suggest running paddle tail. This way you can escape every dino if there’s water nearby basically, as nothing that isn’t a semi will swim faster than you. You can escape to the water effectively without becoming defenseless on land.

Other raptors? Use BITE, no other bite attack is worth using. I use Bloodlust for stacking bleed on midtiers and up, Noctural for the little guys. I like Revitalize for this mode especially, gets you from 1 HP to 25% HP in 17 seconds while standing. I dont use pouncing much so Scatter isnt as useful to me, Night Stalker is good but night specific.

I use Ripping Kick and Pounce, Puncture has no purpose without a team or Mangle, and using Mangle makes you easy pickings for other 1-slots (use BITE). Leaping Start is so niche as to be useless. Use whatever Tail ability you want, I like Featherweight but Tail Fan is the most popular. Moonrunner gets you over 5 minutes of running stamina at night. Finally, I really prefer Hiss over the other voice options, Hiss saved me from death just today vs a Rex.
