Hey everyone! We've got a few more updates for you regarding the Discord Seasonal Challenges system. <@&1072647906789691392>
Firstly, we understand that most of you are struggling with receiving timely notifications whenever a challenge goes live. To address this issue, I would like to refer you to a snippet from an earlier announcement where we advised workarounds and dove into the details of role ping notifications and how they operate on Discord for mobile:
Those who receive role ping notifications late should either leave their app minimised or running in the background, or stay in our chat channels and hang out until a challenge goes live. The late push notifications are unfortunately sent late by design from the Discord mobile developer team. In-app notifications are received on time, however.
P.S: Desktop/Web Discord receives notifications on time when minimized.
Just like you, we were not fully satisfied with the above workaround. Therefore, we've upgraded our challenges system with a new feature that will hopefully reduce these struggles. This new feature will post updates regarding upcoming challenges in the form of Scheduled Events. You can access these Scheduled Events from the "Events" tab underneath the server banner. If you would like to participate in any of the scheduled events, make sure to mark your interest by checking "Interested" on the Events tab items. Our system will attempt to take these events live as soon as the challenge is announced, which will trigger a push notification for all members who marked their interest. This should theoretically send you a quicker notification compared to the role ping on the challenge announcements. In any case, this new feature remains in beta and will be subject to removal if it fails to fulfil its purpose, or causes any unintended issues. Please remember to provide your feedback on the Scheduled Events notification delay whenever future challenges go live. All Scheduled Events are subject to cancellation, rescheduling and other types of updates. Be sure to check back on the Events tab periodically as to not miss any updates.
Secondly, we are aware that Battle Royale's Blitz Isolated challenge has been reappearing very often compared to other kinds of challenges. This is unfortunately only a matter of luck. This challenge did not hold any better odds of being pulled compared to other challenges in the system (that we did not get to see go live). However, we made the decision to take out the BR Blitz Isolated challenge from the list of available challenges as a response to feedback. In other words, we won't be seeing this challenge in the next 2 Discord Seasonal Challenges.
In addition, we actually had a couple changes over the past week regarding the challenge guidelines that I will link below:
• New rule regarding member conduct, which affects everyone:

• Update to the challenge instructions:

Lastly, we would like to remind everyone that this has been the inaugural season for our Discord Seasonal Challenges. We see a lot of potential in these types of events, especially as we feed it more data for a broader list of challenges. So keep sending your feedback our way! We appreciate any suggestions, challenge ideas or actionable feedback.
Thank you for taking the time to read our update and for being part of this awesome new journey.
P.S: The Scheduled Events show the year 2024 on purpose. This is to avoid misleading others into believing any other date would be accurate and encourage them to read the timestamps in the Scheduled Events description, which are accurate.
P.P.S: The next two challenges might be the last challenges for a while as we would be heading into Season 3 and taking the time to re-evaluate the available list of challenges.
