Tomahawk is very, very similar to the way I snipe. My advice was simply written in such a way that compares the two. Saying "it's an axe" doesn't help you much.

You should acknowledge it's a throwable. Yes there is a distinction, but you'll do far better with it if you get used to throwing the tomahawk in a similar way to how you shoot a sniper. In game. The arc isn't as complex as it's made out to be visually

And if it's close quarter don't rely on the arc at all. Simply throw where the enemy is or where you suspect they'll be by the time the animation ends

Short range and mid range are all about prediction

It takes a bit longer to cover the distance from the time it leaves your hand to the time it comes into contact with your desired target so bear that in mind

You can main it, it's just incredibly difficult
