Yes. Look at mine, I've done both extra tasks every ranked season. You see on S1 it gave me 2 extra, one for each task. But S2 it only gave me one extra, because you can only get 3 medals for extra tasks per year. The other extra I have is from an event where they gave an extra medal as a reward.
