Okay @sharp moth in hardcore, no soda, no pap, akimbo machine pistol deals 192 damage per bullet, and empties all 80 bullets in 1.95 seconds, then reloads in 2.95 seconds for a total damage of 15,360, and a dps of ~3,134. Crossbow deals 7200 damage and reloads 2.383 seconds for ~3,021 damage per second. This is assuming headshots btw, if we assume body shots then machine pistol is even better since it only has a 2x headshot multi vs crossbow's 3x multi. Machine pistol's dps also improves more with PaP than crossbow's, since its mag size increases as well, while crossbow's never does. In addition, it gets a better comparative boost from the one shot kill boost, due to its larger mag and significantly faster rate of fire. This also makes it much more forgiving against normal zombies, since it is less likely to waste damage. Crossbow doesn't even penetrate zombies. It's also akimbo, meaning you can hipfire it with ease, as opposed to crossbow, which must be ads'ed to use effectively (except against igniters). Finally, akimbo machine pistols are better at the event challenges, such as destroying ghost fires or killing enemies in the circle, due to the much lower punishment value for missing a shot, and the higher dps against swarms of low-hp targets
