Ive been building a new 3,5” freestyle quad and ive had a little problem
No matter how i try i can get my soldering wire to stick to the pad
There are 2 pads which have this problem and i have no clue how to fix it
The main problem is that the soldering wire doesnt stick to the pad and also somewhy doesnt melt but when i try a different pad it works

#

Thoese 2 pads are the bad ones

#

The soldering wires on thoese pads dont melt but instead turn dry

I dont know

#

I know the thickness

#

The solder has worked before

#

On the same fc and some whoops

#

So ive used this for a while

daring kite
#

and what temperature?

kindred folio
#

Tried from 200-450

daring kite
#

i would use 330 for something like this.
get some good 63/37 flux core solder from like tbs or mgchemicals and make sure the tip of your iron is clean and shiny

throughly clean the board with some iso alcohol, get some good flux down on the board, then solder.

#

had same issue on my mini speedybee board

#

Saw that in the pic, why I chimed in

kindred folio
#

I realized after i wrote the message

#

Ive not cleaned it before

#

But i used flux

ashen yoke
#

Yes, needed

kindred folio
#

Maybe too much

#

But not in the beginning

ashen yoke
#

Got to clean all that flux off

#

Iso Alcohol, 95% or better, small dental brush, small fan.

#

Get to scrubbing, make it all shiney. With the Iso over 95% won't leave residue, you can soak the board down. It will remove any coating on the board that may be there for waterproofing.

#

Sometimes this coating ends up on the contacts during manufacturing; then it won't adhear properly when trying to solder

Imma solder im the morning

#

Im too tired for ts

#

But thanks for the tip

Ground still has a little wire there, when your ready to flux and solder can clean this up

kindred folio
#

Thats not the problem

#

That works perfectly fine

ashen yoke
#

This area, wow

kindred folio
#

Yep

#

Thats it

#

The batt and 9v

#

I dont need batt

#

Just accidentally got solder on it

ashen yoke
#

get enough flux across the entire area down there

#

then lightly tap each pad with fresh solder

kindred folio
#

The problem is with the 9v and ground

#

Should i take off the solder?

ashen yoke
#

no

#

hit me up on DM

#

So we can do some 1 on 1

#

not blowing up this forum

true

#

Let me get some pics together

#

I'm a visual guy, LOL

Here i laid down 2 good starts, and then messed up the other side on purpose, no flux there on the right 3.

#

Clean it really well

#

Let dry

#

Apply a lot of flux where its messed up

#

Just tap on top of each pad just long enough for it to reflow, will bead back up once you lift the iron straight up.

#

Clean again, and ready for wires!!
