Getting back into hobby and taking old drone out of retirment

took my old emax hawk 5 (firmware BTFL 3.1.7) out of retirement and cant get it to bind to my taranis qx7 (firmware 2.2.0, opentx-x7) been about 7-8 years since i last worked at this stuff. what do i need to change

How firm are you on getting it working as is?

@restive edge havent got any further im about 10 youtube videos deep

i know its a compatability issue

and i want to change the one on my transmitter as ive flashed it before when i changed to use a dji reciever on a diff drone

I was asking to see if making some equipment upgrades wouldn't be out of the question

dont really want to spend any money at the min

i changed the firmware on my qx7 a while ago to fly a dji drone but didnt note the version ichanged from

i assume if i can figure out the right version it should bind

@restive edge what parts would you upgrade? still not getting anyhere and nearly ready to put in back in retirement

It's been like 4 years since I've had to deal with the FrSky setup maze myself, so I probably wouldn't be of much help. I'd recommend getting a modern radio control link system like ELRS
