#ELRS or CROSSFIRE

i know nothing, enlight me hahaha
elrs no questions asked
I dont even need to read the question
wait let me read it anyways
😆
i mean the guy told me it's better in every aspect but i wanted to be sure technically
even for long range and stuff
okay, so the main difference between elrs and crsf is that elrs is open source and cheaper
performance wise theyre similar
So, if you have:
An insurance provider that requires you to use crossfire.
An NDAA compliance requirement.
You need crossfire.
If not thoose things.
Then honestly just use whatever.
If you have enough working crossfire RX'S and whatnot for your needs.
I am in camp "if it's not broken don't fix it."
cause i had to buy a long range drone since my old one broke so i wanted to stay updated and buy it with elrs and it didn't really cost me much to swap two drones with elrs :/
If you dont have a reason that llama stated to use crossfire and you plan to get more drones and receivers in the future, get elrs, otherwise I'd just stay with crsf
ELRS will be cheaper in the long run and have more hardware options to pick from.
Depends what exactly do you wanna do
For 5inch it's no problem to lug the crossfire antenna, if you have one system, short term wise it's better to just use that if you have receivers to spare.
Long term wise elrs is more viable, and you can get dual 2400/ 915 mhz modules, which with some hackjob fitting can be put on tango 2, or whatever radio you choose
I had the same reaction lol
turns out in this case both are fijne
All that is required is a Tx module and they're good to go with buying ELRS drones/RX's though.
I get the sense that that's the path they're intending to take, but wanted the reassurance that it wasn't a mistake.
It's not a mistake, it's a smart move IMO.
As long as they remember to change model on the radio when they switch Rx types....
I mean idk about buying a mambo bit but
If he's already invested into a system, even if it's lagging behind elrs in terms of updates and improvements, there's no immediate need to pull the trigger on upgrading, may as well "use up" inventory and then transition
Unless he wants to ofc. A module isn't as expensive as buying whole new radio
Bay looks like for jr micro radios but not too sure
Tango uses a nano bay so they will not be compatible without an adapter
It's a micro in the mambo IIRC
