#I'm fairly new to building drones and cant get my VTX right for my HGLRCF405v2!

Its probaly so far from anything recognisable man, i didnt have too much money to put into this quad XD
cant find anything on it at the moment
it worked before i flashed 4.3 to it
Without itformation on the VTX, you'll have a hard time setting up the VTX tables. If they're not set up right, it just won't work
what firmware version is on it now?
originally, i flashed it to 4.3 because i was told ibus was only going to work with it and just to test something when i was out of town with my laptop i flashed it to 4.5.2 to see if my controller would still connect and it did and worked fine so i kept it there
so it's 4.5.2 now
?
correct
you need to test with a working VTX table
Can you at least get a link to where you bought it from? Or even just a photo
heres a photo, the original link is gone and dosent lead aywhere now.
could you help guide me with that
post the original link pls
and a photo of the other side of the vtx if possible
can you post the config backup you made before flashing?
show a screenshot of the whole Video Transmitter page
i tried manually imputting those into it.
according to the specs it uses TBS Smart Audio protocol?
I wonder why you're getting device ready: yes when it's set to MSP lol
poor quality, smaller text is:
VIN 7-26V
GND
DATA
VIDEO
GND
5V OUT
Here's the actual VTX table they supply, you can import it in Video Transmitter tab
I got pics and specs on the product page, don't worry
Disable MSP on that row
also I assume you know which UART you've got it wired up to
and that it's wired to the TX side of that UART
which UART?
im not sure how to tell
i think it says rx 2
sorry im lacking in propper tools and had to take my fc apart
that's not a VTX port
And oh boy, I hope you haven't killed anything if you powered it up in this state
putting 5V on video doesn't always end well
since it's a 1Vish signal
make sure you're looking at the correct cable...
but ig you are
show a photo of that entire side of the fc
I hope the receiver isn't plugged into that port cause that's not right either
at least according to common wire colors
recievers not
so what is plugged into there?
VTX goes here (red):
Receiver goes here (blue) :
show pics of new wiring once you fix it
just wanna sanity check the wire colors
actually, wait
hmmm
theres another port with pads i have reciever on
rx3 5v and ground
what receiver have you got?
flysky fs-16
that's the radio, but oh lord..
or well
i already had the radio ;-;
it's a shit radio for drones
thats fair
guess how i know
the issue is that I made the mistake back in 2018
when there was no other option xD
ahhh
I'll send you a link
and you'll promise me to go have a read once we have everything figured out in case I forget, okay?
This will tell you how to make sure your drone doesn't fly away the moment it loses signal.
Like mine did.
got it 🫡
oh so, not actually a flysky receiver
fli14+
that one is slightly less flyaway prone, ironically
Thank god
still, check it
this one has two issues:
- fixed antennas
- overheating
make sure it's not taped to heck, it needs a bit of airflow
can you send some overall photos of your drone?
so I can see which wires go where and stuff
just like the fc stack and stuff?
I want to track which components which wires go to
so I have a general idea of how the thing is built
also when going through my fs-i6 i cant find anything under 11 ?
xD
it's an L , not a 1
omg
they should capatalize it 😢
As for the failsafe guide I sent earlier - that mostly applies to original flysky receivers.
These 3rd party receivers usually handle failsafe more properly, but you should still check that failsafe works.
gotcha
the issue is mostly with the IA6B and X6B receivers
the X14S has a different problem now that I recall
god I grew to hate these things so much
imma edit the FAQ post
alright lol
just added a new heading lol
anyway, send pics of the build
I wanna tell you where to plug shit in so it doesn't blow up
can you just put the things in how they generally are supposed to be
and send some wide shots ?
not up close
im trying alright
i used a smoke stopper plugged it up and set the uart to 1 and its working ;-;
i had the reciever plugged into that 5v port and thats why it wouldnt work
i set up my radio with all the instructions you gave aswell
why is the resolution like 5x5 😂
dont worry ;-;
I can't see shit in the pics
it looks like you sent screenshots of thumbnails of photos
not to far from what im having to do ;-;
y tho
cant get discord to function on my phone
so just upload the pics from your pc?
or upload them to imgur on phone and send link from pc
i dont know, first flight was awesome. i got outside setup got my gopro on it cause it has gps and i wanted to have that, my goggles are fogging up and im constantly having to take them off and whipe them before flying and then my gopros bluetooth is messed up so i cant check the preview and just decide to fly it, my headset strap comes off after like 10 secondes of flying and i catch it and dont crash, i get the quad back and its a little heavy and the gopros just deadweight and the thing on the gopro snaps and wont come off so i have to take the battery off and unscrew it from the bottom and get it off then my batter hatch thing falls off and i just leave it because im already tireed of it and fly for a bit get my quad back again start packing up, otw back in (3 foot walk) my lanyard breaks and my controller falls down 4 steps (all on the gimbals) with the battieries everywhere and i just keep walking.
i dont think the world wants me to fly fpv ;-;
