i have a sub250 whoopfly16 and i tried to update it like months ago and whenever i would do a update it would just not boot up betaflight and i reverted back to the firmware that it came with.
is there something i need to check? i dont really remember clearly but i still have the backup file if it will help in finding the problem with that

Sounds like you're just flashing the wrong firmware target
It'll say in the upper left of Betaflight, make sure the target matches that when you flash the new firmware
it does ill do it rn
created a backup too
its doing it
done
betaflight sees it
nope its the same
no logo when booting up
My osd is resetted?? Actually does my settings get deleted when i update?? I didnt check but i dont know. I'll check it once im home
Yes, it essentially wipes your entire instalation clean. Hence why it's usually not recommended to update.
Ohh
If you created a backup, you should be able to restore that backup in the Presets tab though
Usually updating the firmware's not incredibly necessary unless you want new features (or unless it's so old Betaflight doesn't support it anymore) If you do want to continue with trying to get the new version to work though, I'd recommend trying a Full Chip Erase in the advanced options and seeing if that lets you connect after flashing
