I would like to try and build a drone where I pick the parts entirely. Any resources or strategies to pick motors, and good stacks? Or is there only one or two best answers?

I know what to research frames, o4 always, and elrs, and props, but identifying good stack and motor I'm still not sure what is good vs bad

as far as motors you have size, kv, motor/frame mounting sizes, and then just sheer build quality. i like rcinpower

as far as flight controllers stick to good brands
H7 > F745 > ATF435/F722 > F405/G4 > F411 or something along those lines

avoid the bmi270 gyro unless its F405/G4 or below

ESC's again stick to good brands, try going for AM32 and avoid BLHeli_32
