#What is this board
159 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I think it’s something like the EMAX Skyline32 but I’m not Shore (it’s from a Google image search)
and if its too old then what FC do you guys recomend
Plug it into Betaflight, it should be able to tell you
(assuming it's running Betaflight)
i tright that and it didnt work! any other options??
Did it make a sound when plugged in? If not, you might not have been using a data USB cable
the pc made the usb plugging in sound
Cool cool. It might not be running Betaflight then 😢
yeaaaahhhhh
what else can i use exept betaflight
and can i convert it to beta flight
Ardupilot, Emuflight,
( i have no idea what im doing)
Actually it might be worth seeing if either of those configurators see the board
You can, you have to know what type of board it is first though. If you flash the wrong target it gets... troublesome 😅
Its probably old so were any of those popular back in the day
I agree it looks very similar to the EMAX boards you said, though I can't find any that look exactly the same
seing as how i am a total degenerate im probably not gonna do it then
yeah i had the same issue
They've been around for quite a while, maybe whoever had the drone first was a bit experimental 🤷
I assume you're just trying to get a secondhand drone into the air?
Yeah old drones can be tricky
Actually you could try running ImpulseRC Driver fixer and then Betaflight again (assuming you're on Windows)
its more anciant but yea
If that doesn't work then I'd try the other configurators
ill try the impulse one first and then the other ones
i am but i have no idea what that is or how it works
Trust me, that's not ancient 😅 I had a secondhand drone that had an F1 flight controller (as opposed to the F4/F7 that are used today) and an FPV camera that pointed downward and had like a 60 degree FOV
ImpulseRC Driver Fixer will try to automatically install drivers for you
You plug in the drone, run the program, and hopefully you'll be able to see it in Betaflight after that
oki doki
ill check
be back
i shall return
been plugged in for a while now
i belive it is a stack (the FC)
shit
wrong application
same story
Weird. Try plugging it in after you start up ImpulseRC?
Damn. Your best bet is probably to get your friend to respond about what the board is 😅 I can try looking around online some more too
F1... yikes
ill try the other softwares
this will not be supported by anything modern
maybe I'm reading it wrong
ill have to just hope its configured and fly it like this for a while
getting this working will be much more painful than just spending $30-40 on a new FC
and then buy a new flight controller
ik
but
im broke to the point of no return
but
what fc do you recomed
that wont make me cry over the price
where are you from?
how come?
to search stores actually useful to you
are you fine with AliExpress?
uhhhhhh
that's the cheapest way I can think of
id prefer not to but yeah shure
if you have paypal you should be good
i do not
well, even then it's ususaly fine, I've only had like one order not finish in a way I was satisfied with
allright
thanks alot
btw
cleanflight seems to work
ill still get a new fc but i can hold out
Also
the fc has nothing to do with the reciver right?
just wondering if it will work with new radios
Yeah receiver is separate. For smaller drones it can be built into the flight controller, but for these larger drones they're almost always separate
It might be running FlySky, which I would highly recommend upgrading to ExpressLRS though
it has little to do. Not nothing tho
old firmware might not support newer wire communication protocols that modern receivers use
when i bought my googles it came with a camera setup
when pluged in the drone looks powerd up
but the googles dont get signal
Yeah true. I'd only bother upgrading at the same time you upgrade your flight controller
should i wait and plug it into a battery or change the camera
Yeah VTX is usually only powered if a battery is plugged in
The VTX on the drone usually has lights that indicate the band and channel it's transmitting on. Though they're not that useful without a user manual. Your goggles should have an auto-scan feature that searches the channels. It's not great because you might not end up on exactly the right band/channel, but it'll be better than nothing
Get a new receiver, solder that onto the new flight controller. It's pretty straightforward, the user manual for the flight controller will come with a wiring guide to tell you what to connect where
they are preditors 2 so i can almost be sertain they dont have that
but it will still work with the radio master m2 pocket?
regardless
Depends on what kind you have
elrs
An ELRS receiver will work, a FlySky receiver won't
ohhhhh
You'd have to get a separate 4in1 TX module and slap that on the back of your Pocket
then i need a new reciver
Yes, but it's likely it won't work with your current FC
it might, it might not
though ELRS can output legacy wire protocols too
like SBUS
Ooh I didn't know that
ill get the m2 pocket and try
not ideal tho
if it dont work
ill make a new post
thank you guys for the support!
ill se what i can do now
and i didnt understand anything there
think of the protocol as a "language"
the receiver might talk in a language that the flight controller cannot understand
but elrs has google translate?
Yeah pretty much lol
so even thogh the drone is anciant i can use the m2 pocket
ill ask you guys how to do that whan the radio comes
if you get an ELRS receiver for it, yes
The only thing that the radio talks to is the receiver. As long as those are compatible (ELRS to ELRS, for example) and the receiver is compatible with the FC, then you're good
So yeah ELRS receiver, using Google Translate to talk to the FC, should work just fine
oki then i need a new elrs receiver
Those should be fairly cheap
any good elrs receiver recomandations?
Anything from Radiomaster, Happymodel, Namimno, BetaFPV, and many others
Ceap?
?
cheap?
They all should be less than 20 USD
I see a SpeedyBee ELRS RX for like 5 USD on AliExpress, though it's a "new user deal" thingy so I don't know if it gives it to everyone or not
the SpeedyBee ones are okay
Radiomaster was one of the first companies to start making ELRS receivers, right?
