My 8s drone has been running perfectly lately, but today, when I plugged in the battery, the front right motor literally shot a flame out of the top. I assumed the motor was fucked, so I soldered on a replacement—but as soon as I powered it up, another massive flame shot from the new motor.
I’m assuming the esc is fucked right?

That is was a 55a foxeer reaper esc I feel like that was probably too little amps anyway for 8s, do you have any esc recommendations as replacement?

the 55a isn't as durable as the 65a one, 8s also tends to push everything a bit hard

I use the 65A Reaper ESC in my 8S 7" and it's been quite good

nah its all good, it just means its going faster, like cars that shoot flames out of the exhaust
