Flight controller F4 1S 5A aio betafpv
VTX MO3 betafpv
Camera pinch cam Tinywhoop
Original motors that it happened to was the
RS0802 20000kv from Happymodel
New motors that also did it are the EX0802
25000kv Happymodel antenna just regular diapole ufl

Okay so was building my first drone and after setting everything up went to test fly and didn’t fly so ofc I check props, motor direction, and plugs.
Go to bf tried changing motor directions etc cuz 1 was wrong and still did it. Back again like 5 times then I go to esc configurator cuz maybe I got to turn the idle speed up or the max. Moved them a bit wrote the setting then the buzzing started.
Moved the settings for the throttle speeds back and the buzzing continued. Connected everything up again and just went back to factory settings for the esc and the buzzing was still there but when I went to bf to spin the motors it wouldn’t. I unplugged the motor plugged the battery in and no buzzing. Thought maybe the motor was too beat up maybe from using it in the past so I
Moved it to a new frame that had the new motors on and then the buzzing started again so it’s not a bad motor I think. It’s also a new fc and new vtx and they were all spinning before hand but just not correctly.
First video with the open prop frame is where it started and you can hear the buzzing.
The last two I’m showing the connecting joints I soldered on.

Changed the locations of the motors for one last test and it’s the left top motor making the noise and not spinning. It only makes the sound with the battery tho not usb

#

Still getting footage to my goggles too

I've never seen this failure before but it sounds like your FC has a very weird problem on the ESC side

#

I'm guessing you can spin up all the motors except the buzzing one?

Man I haven’t been able to find a single post or video on this. It was working fine when I started tho:/ didn’t see anything where I could’ve bridged and fried and the motors aren’t too powerful either to draw that much current which I found so weird. But yes all other 3 motors are spinning just fine. @frank flint

rewinding - what happned to the AIO between the last time that it worked and when this problem showed up?

Okay so I got everything put together went to test fly and just flipped over so ofc I thought props or motor directions. Tried that like 5-10 times not even exaggerating and wasn’t getting it right. On the last 2 I left the props on while carefully holding the whoop to feel if the air was being pushed up or down but I felt all 4 pushing the air down or sucking. Either way it wasn’t going towards the top. Thought maybe like the mob7 you maybe have to turn the idle speed up and the max aswell thru esc configurator so I did that and that when it started. I tried going back to the original numbers and still happened. Went back to default factory settings and still continued. Now just been on discord Reddit and YouTube but nada

#

Gonna start ordering a new aio now tho😭😂

frank flint

hm

#

betaflight shouldn't arm if it doesn't have RPM telemetry from every motor

#

which means maybe that this ESC is still running blheli_s?

#

have you tried flashing the latest bluejay to the ESC?

native wagon
#

Weird, in esc configurator I believe I saw it say bluejay .17 I could be wrong so I’ll check back when I get home. But nah the only thing I flashed was the bf firmware. But not the esc’s since I’ve only done it once but I’ll try it in a bit

frank flint
#

upgrade bluejay

#

enable bidirectional dshot in the motors tab

#

then see if any of the ESCs are reporting errors in the motor controls on the right

#

I would expect errors. if not.... it means that some other oscillating signal is leaking into the motor windings. which would be very weird

native wagon
#

Alright back home. Gonna try it now. So to recap.
I go to Esc configurator flash the newest version of bluejay
Disconnect and go to BF enable bidirectional dshot then see what happens. I’ll start recording after enabling dshot

frank flint
#

yeah

native wagon
#

Motor won’t show up in esc configurator now

#

Haven’t flashed yet

#

You can hear 1,2,3 spinning when I turn it up but nothing with4 but it is showing up tho

native wagon
#

Rotated the fc around and the problem travels with the port and not the motor. Damn I really got bamboozled with a 5 min working fc😂😭 gonna try ordering another before it’s out of stock or would you recommend another fc?

frank flint
#

I use this FC but you could get a happymodel if you want to try something different

native wagon
#

😅was waiting on the x12 to restock so got this one in the mean time for this build. And the x12 to replace in my mob7. But just ordered another one off tinywhoop gonna try again in a couple of days

Might sound crazy have had a issue like that, is your battery healthy and good?

pseudo iron
#

had that same issue

#

was just a issue with my soldering

Well I got a new fc on the way just incase but I will mess with the solder joints fs

#

5v-5v
ground-ground
Vtx- Video out
Cam-video in
Smart audio-t2

#

Don’t think it’s a motor tho since I tried different motors and it still did it with those

native wagon
#

Also got the cli dump from before flashing everything aswell should I try that out after redoing the soldering incase it don’t work

pseudo iron
#

went through this same issue, my problem was my soldering but most likely different for you

native wagon
#

Yeah maybe man gotta just love this hobby huh🤣 shiii ion even think building my pc was ever this hard💀 into cars aswell and it’s mainly just muscle shit and memory for putting stuff back but then tinkering with everything into bf or any other configurator gives this a whole other level like life tuning they cars shit scary😭

pseudo iron

😂😂basically. Just gotta make sure everything gonna fit in the pc case and all the stuff compatible kinda like a drone. Then just installing drivers and tada. Ofc there’s some drone parts that can be possible for a whole plug and play drone but ion think there’s any soldering to do at all for pcs unless you was doing some Extra

💀yup that’s its new user friendly to start but after a crash and anything comes loose you’ll be practicing on ur most likely first and only drone so it’s kinda bad for newbies ngl

New FC is what fixed it btw but also changing the connectors on my batteries and damn this harder than I thought😭😂
