flying behind a tree or flying alone is illegal, and long range is amazing, so even if it is more dangerous for the drone, and more illegal than the already illegal stuff we do, we shouldn't hide it
why do we have a wing channel if we can't have a long range channel, since basically all they talk about over there is long range (at least when I read the messages over there)

The fact a wing is possible to be used for long range does not mean the #✈️fixed-wings channel is meant for long range wings. It is meant for wings, period. We discourage breaking the law, which includes flying long range. The #✈️fixed-wings channel does not inherently promote flying long range. A lot of wing pilots fly LOS without goggles, so long range is out of the question for them. Quads can fly long range too, yet #🥽fpv-drones is also not inherently promoting long range either. A channel dedicated to breaking the law is not one we would introduce. We want to keep this hobby possible going forward, and breaking the law is a good way of ensuring even more stricter laws in the future.
