#Better location roles?

Ok it doesn't have to be roles themselves but I'd absolutely love to help expand this discord as the #1 drone server. I've struggled finding pilots near me and I'd rather not ping or have to make a daily advertisement asking people where they live on the chance that they're sitting in one of the channels to see it.

How could we go about creating a way to identify by state for us here in the US? I'm afraid myself and others could have missed out on other pilots living in the same area that could have met up and flown together.

I'm aware of the other post but the US is quite large lol whether we do it West Coast, East Coast, by the 4 timezones, whatever.

There was a post about this previously, the main point being the dont want role for every country in europe.

Unfortunate. I feel like it'd be a prime opportunity to figure something out to bring pilots together easier and bettering the community as a whole.

It's a neat idea and it's been brought up before a bunch of times, but there aren't enough roles allowed by discord to do it. There aren't even enough roles to break it down by country for all the different countries we have members from.
We would need a way to do it that doesn't involve roles.

This would probably cause a lot of bloat in the server, but it may be possible to set something up using channels rather than roles, considering Discord's onboarding system and channel list updates
