I've got the crux3 2s. Recently, the rx antenna got hit and knocked off by a propeller, so I tried to solder it back on. As far as I can tell, I did a decent job of it, but I'm assuming that I didn't since it now just launches itself away when I arm it. Could I please get an estimate of how badly I messed up? Hopefully these photos are good enough
#Crux3 flies off when armed

Do you mean the quad or the antenna launches upward?
I would assume the former, but that's a weird thing for it to do unless you cooked the accelerometer or something
the soldering job looks fine. I don't seen any bridges or missing components. Sois it taking off straight up, or wobbling around when it trys to fly to the moon?
wobbling would indicate a passable damage issue, like a bent prop or motor. the part being a bit more wobbly now, and causing the tune to be out enough that the flight controller freaks out and heads for Luna.
If it takes off straight up, my next questions would be "Did you change the props before that happened? And are they higher pitched?"
Huh, I didn't get notifications for this apparently
Yes, it's the quad. When I arm it it floats up into the air, even without any throttle input. If I give it just a bit of throttle, it flies upward and I have to flip it upside down to lose altitude.
^ I didn't change the props. I think it's a bit wobbly, but I'm not sure as I was mostly focusing on not messing up the very uncontrolled flight. It has been kinda wobbly in the past though too. This drone has been a huge pain to deal with the whole time I've had it honestly. I'm considering leaving it alone for now and maybe coming back to it in a while once I have some better drone-stuff experience
ok, a bent or unballanced prop can cause what's happening, so the first thing to do is swap props and see if that fixes it. what pitch and blade count are you running right now?
I have no idea what the pitch is, but they're two blade props. I can't try switching them right now because it's dark out, but I'll see if I can get to it tomorrow.
So I just went to switch them but I only have two replacement props left. Should I still switch them?
Props are like underwear. they should be changed often.
Change the worst nicked or bent props with the 2 you have, but that alone might not cure the issue. Get a bunch of spare props, change them anytime you take a hard crash or the drone starts being weird.
i just switch them when i cant fly anymore :P
I've started to be able to hear the bad props, I change mine when they sound wrong.
I was flying with props with holes (created by flying stones and debris) and even one bent (just bend it back) and all went well
