I have a stack that has been really put through some abuse over the last couple of builds. I have shifted it over to a new frame with new parts overall but ran into an issue some months ago. I plugged in my battery and it sparked and smoke came out. It looked like it came from the XT30 plug area. I have since then managed to replace the cables and got a new battery. Got everything plugged in and connected but no ESC sequence and arm. The FC boots up and can be accessed and RX binds but no ESC sound and doesn't ARM? Any help appreciated

Probably because of the smoke you mentioned
yeah....
you could get the ESC out and look for damage, but the result is the same
ivw checked the ESC everything looks fine there is no visible damage on the board
i feel like the smoke came from the xt60 connector cuase it is burnt out
could it be that this occured becuase of the damaged ESC?
Pics of the XT60?
If the connector burned it's because something drew an extremely large current that probably indicates something else failed
If you have a multimeter on hand then you can check the components one by one. If the battery reads a correct voltage, then that's not the issue. If the voltage is the same as the battery on the pads where the xt30 connects with the ESC then the cable isn't the issue. If neither of these are the problem, then take your ESC off entirely and inspect it closely. You're looking for black patches, blown up capacitors, or anything that looks generally melted and exploded. Get back to me if you find issues in any of these places.
Sounds like a short
short where
on the esc or the wire
ive swapped out connector for a new one
Could be anywhere do u got a smokestopper or multimeter
ive got a multimeter i plan on doing what joe said earlier and testing the connection
battery is fine and wire i think is fine since its new
also fc is powering on and lights up and connects to transmitter
just no ESC sequence or arming
yes and everyone has told you the ESC probably has a problem
as @split cloak said,
then take your ESC off entirely and inspect it closely. You're looking for black patches, blown up capacitors, or anything that looks generally melted and exploded. Get back to me if you find issues in any of these places.
on the esc.
any luck since?
there is correct voltage coming in at both the battery and the terminus point
on the board
but unfortunatly still no luck
the only thing i can maybe say is that before i goy my new solder i was using some very bad ones before and they seems to have flaked and flowed over slightly
