#Hey, I need help finding a fpv drone.

id say get skyzone cobra x v2
radiomaster boxer elrs
hota d6 pro
cnhl black 6s 1300mah
nazgul5 v2 or v3 analog 6s elrs
if your in the US you can get the CNHL Green LiPos which are cheaper and a little better than CNHL black
I have a intermediate kit, i have the geprc smart 35 analog elrs which is a 3.5" prop size, radiomaster zorro elrs, I'm getting the skyzone sky04L V2 which is a really good goggle but they are pricey, if you want a decent starter goggles i recommend either skyzone cobra x v2 or ev800ds. for my drone i use 850 mah gnb 4s lipo batteries, i have a chnl 3s 2000 mah lipo battery for my goggles for more battery life. my charger for the lipo batteries is the Gens ace IMARS III Pro. also the radiomaster zorro needs 18350 batteries, i would do research to make sure you know what actually get for different things but this is my stuff i have. I'm not saying get this, this is my recommendation if you have practiced in a simulator and understand the basics.
5 inch for a first fpv drone?
eh with enough sim it should be fine
yeahhh maybe, i would say like a 3 inch or so
get the list i said before and also get a mobula7 1s (non hd) and some 1s 450mah battereries
thats what I did, broke alot of stuff tho
true
The Mavic 2 skills won't translate over very well. In terms of size, pick a size that matches where you'll be flying most. Indoors? Whoop. Small park? Toothpick. Huge field? 5".
You'll get a feel for what you want and where you want it further along the hobby, but don't get something you don't enjoy flying.
i want mostly outside, and i just bought a boxer radio so anything compatable drones with that would be great
i want it a little durrable tho
is there anything a bit more durrable ?
Boxer elrs?
Mobula7 1s (non hd)
yes
does it still shoot 4k?
i have one already
ill just do this
Then get the original list I sent
cause im getting the gopro 12 anyways
I still reco buying the mobula7 1s just to learn on
ok
And also do you know how to solder/have a soldering iron?
Cuz ur going to need it
for what?
To fix ur drone
i’m not building one myself
When u crash
oh
ok that’s ez
are they hard to fix based off ur crashes?
@smoky swift the mobula7 1s already has a camera, is it possible to take it off for the gopro?
Google view
A cinewhoop but those don’t freestyle
i’m just trying to catch like cool views at high speeds
as in like waterfalls etc
Freestyle 5"-7" is gonna be best for fast motion footage. Cinewhoops just do not have the speed and agility you need for waterfalls, ravine dives, mountain surfing, etc
so which would u recommend
This was a decent recommendation list, tbh #1150960231380156506 message
alr thanks for the help
@leaden temple do you want to see good quality video mid-flight or is only after (getting it out of the GoPro) good enough?
There budget is $1000 otherwise I’d have said dji v2 and a vista or maybe o3
And analog don’t look to bad with cobra x and nazgul5 camera
Ik, but I want to set realistic expectations
True
Why a 1300mah and not 1500 or 1800?
My first was 5 inch too, but flew 20+ hours in a simulator first before trying acro in real life
Good weight to flight time balance
yes please
@leaden temple you misunderstood my question
lemme read again
I'm asking which you want to see in the FPV goggles
yea i’m noticing now
lmfao i’m retarded bare with me 😭
is it possible to get both,
?*
nah ur good i understand
I can see where it's confusing yu
nono
I wrote it a bit dumb
Gopro recording - that's a constant. You can get that in any case.
But, are you okay with only getting good video from the gopro (so after the flight), but getting pretty shitty footage in the FPV goggles?
well, it's analog video
there are digital video systems with considerably better video quality
but that shit's expensive
is it possible to get good quality google and good quality video from gopro?
i have gopro already
that doesn’t count in budget
No that's not how it works
the gopro is a completely independent device
in case you meant to use the gopro as the FPV camera
ik
Maybe with wifi connection possible but very bad
Unflyable latency
ignore the gopro
I know the GoPro stuff will never work
I confused you with some stuff, so, just, take the gopro out of the equation. @leaden temple
i would rather have good footage after
ok
There is analog video. It's cheap.
There's digital video. It's expensive, but looks 10x better.
The GoPro is for the good video footage but forget it for now
how expensive
how much
I was asking if you're okay with flying with shit quality in the goggles and only later getting the best quality footage out of the gopro.
Alternatively, you could get good quality in the goggles, and then also get the best quality footage out of the gopro, but that costs considerably more money.
There are two video systems which would be relevant. Walksnail and DJI HD FPV.
about how much more money tho
Idk what's available in that regard right now, but the goggles are the major part of the expense.
you'll have to find out
it consists of two/three parts - the VTX aka Air Unit (DJI) in the drone, and the goggles, or goggles+HD video receiver @leaden temple
oh so i’m building it?
well, okay, there's also HDZero system, but that's a very slight increase in quality over analog (but great latency)
no, you can buy prebuilts with the stuff, but the choice is more limited
and they're ofc more expensive
I'm telling you to do some more research in that direction basically 😄
yea i can see lol
I hate when people say very slight it’s a big difference in my opinion
Although WS and DJI are miles better
okay it's good, but compared to WS and DJI it's ass
and I hate its stupid image artifacts
they make me queasy
what happens if i just stay with the cheaper option
you mean analog video?
yes
it's just worse quality video
technically also a bit worse at going through obstacles/distance
but on the other hand you get a lot more choice in hardware
if i buy avata is that fine
idk
DJI stuff is beyond me
the only thing I accept from that company is the HD FPV system, the rest of the company could burn for all I care
i want a durable drone.. for obvious reasons lol
i’ll honestly take any drone that can carry a go pro and propellers are covered
Cinewhoops may look more durable but they are definitely not
The prop guards are to protect things around them
sure
so i’ll just tag u once i’m home
Get yourself a 5 inch
But yeah take ur time and show us so it's easier for us to understand what exactly you're looking for
yea was going to
well first off i got a boxer radio to practice on sim
theres a glitch where it will just fall out the sky sometimes
also wont work with your boxer
so you will need to buy their overpriced 230$ radio
(which is terrible may i add)
Only with the avata?
Dont buy the avata please
hasnt happened to my potato but i still dont like it
the radio started uncontrollably yawing when i throttle up after like 2 months of use
Potato = ?
Dji fpv
All the dji made prebuilt fpv drones suck
agreed
Slow taps
accidental landings
“Crashes”
I had my eachine fall from 10-20m on concrete and the frame is still fine
Everything else was broken (antenna, props, motor protectors, some screws,.. that kind of stuff) but the frame survived
You will be a happy man as long as that doesnt happen
I removed the embeds because they suck (hopefully removed them for everyone not just me kek)
put the links on individual lines
you could've just edited that..
ok well that was easier
so, how did your Digital system research go?
wym thats what i got from it
those 3 drones
oh
and what video you get from it, live and recorded..
those are cobras
so
ok
There are currently 3 major digital systems.
DJI HD FPV (has multiple versions with a complicated compatibility chart)
Walksnail
HDZero
this is in order from best video to worst video
all of them are better in video quality than analog
NONE of them are compatible with each other, or analog
They either have specific goggles or specific video receiver modules
@leaden temple
ok so ill look through these
the cobras that you sent are analog.
the cobras i didnt do research on
someone just sent them here so i stuck with them
Cobras are good analog goggles
but for digital you need to look for other options 😄
They're expensive, that's why I want you to check out if it feels like a worthwhile investment to you.
Look up video comparisons, preferably some recent ones as Walksnail has been upgraded a lot over time (with firmware)
I sent em here along with an analog quad
yea
i need help
with research
If u want any of those drones look for dji goggles
Besides that top one is analog
wym top one
The first link
Mavic 2 is very very different have u got a simulator to practice on first with your controller, just check u actually wanna fly it, also buy a 350 pound one then you’ll have money when u crash it. Maybe Follow Joshua Bardwell´s latest tutorial
i have been practicing sim 1 day with boxer sim cause it just came in
i alreay know that information

Racedayquads, pyrodrone and get fpv are the 3 main sites
DefianceRC and Wrekd are also good, not what I use the most tho
