Hey everyone, after a vital mistake on my part, I am here replacing my ESC on my iflight chimera 7 pro.
I had a few questions and was wondering if someone could help guide me through a small part of this.
- when I first took apart the drone, and got to ESC, after taking the ESC if I noticed a small capacitor under the esc. The capacitor was not attached to anything rather loose in a small compartment under the ESC. (Picture for example) I was wondering is this is important to the ESC and quad? I was wondering why it is not attached?
1.1 After receiving the new ESC the compositor was attached securely to it? (See picture) This has gotten me a bit confused and I am wondering if I should try and remove the compositor, or I should leave it on?

After removing the old ESC, there was yet another capacitor soldered in to the pads along with the two positive and negative wires that make up the intake current for the battery. (See the picture) I no longer have that old ESC, so i am having to hold the wire and the capacitor for example to whare it was soldered to the pads. I am wondering if this needs to be also replaced onto the pad along with the new wire and ESC?

I am kind of intimidated, with the fact I’m going to have to solder 12 different wires onto a new ESC board. I have the right equipment to do so, but with the fact I have never soldered much I am kinda worried. As last time I believe I caused a short in the ESC pads on the motor I had to replace causing the ESC to flame up and short. I am still not exactly sure what cuased the smoke and flames, but since it was on the corner of the ESC whare I had to replace the mottor and soldered new wires I think it was me.
If anyone could provide information and guidance it would be really appreciated, and I don’t just say that to say it, I really mean it. I need information on this.
Thank you.
