Hey yall, I just got my mobula 8 and I cant seem to get it bound to by radio master boxer radio. When I enter bind mode, the radio automatically end the binding process like they are bound, but betaflight dosent seem to detect any of my radio inputs. This is my first drone so I am struggling to figure it all out.

I got the drone to connect. Got it to read on beta flight. But now when I arm the drone. I can only describe this as the drone throttling, doing a kickflip, then dropping.

#

Throttle on betaflight when stick is down shows 980 which I think might be my problem. No clue how to fix that though.

lets check prop direction first

#

I think they are on correctly but can you take a closer pic to make sure

#

do you have betaflight configurator on your comp?

manic spire
#

I do

plug in batt -> connect to bf -> motors tab

I would take props off for anything without whoops/ducts, and its still probably a good idea if you want to be extra safe, but as long as you exercise caution you should be ok to keep them on for this

#

also a fan blowing air over the copter is a good idea as well

#

Once on the Motors tab there are two buttons below the graphic of your copter showing the motor direction and their corresponding number. Start with the motor number wizard first, and then do the motor direction wizard second. Use the corner of a piece of paper/plastic to verify the motor are spinning the correct direction.

#

and be very careful, a 2" isnt that big but it can still do some damage

your board orientation is probably wrong

#

go to where you can see your quads angle

#

move it foward, left, right and make sure it directly corelates to the real movement of your quad, front being the front

manic spire
#

yep, yeah its backwards.. oh dear

severe carbon
#

thats fine

#

all you need to do is in the config tab, spin it 180 deg

#

should be a drop down called board orientation or something similar

manic spire
#

This bit here?

severe carbon
#

yeah

#

change it to cw180 see if it works

#

works as is the movement corelates dont arm

manic spire
#

it kinda does? Turning right and left are now correct

#

but pitch has turned into roll

#

and roll has turned into pitch

severe carbon
#

ok from thinking about it in my head it seems like its off by 90 degrees now but its confusing lol

manic spire
#

yeah I am just like.. This is supposed to be a bnf? lmao

severe carbon
#

did you flash the flight controller when you got it?

manic spire
#

yes, with the happymodel file that is for this drone so that I could bind the drone on elrs v3.0, which was also an entire headache

severe carbon
#

it should be fine, just choose the right board allignment so that the movement of the drone in real life is the same as on the screen

severe carbon
#

what’s up

manic spire
#

I have literally no way to explain this one, but here is a video

#

Wtf lmao

severe carbon
#

go to the motors tab and make sure "motor direction reversed" is on

manic spire
severe carbon
#

okay go to the motors tab and hit reorder motors

#

go through that wizard

#

then also check again that your motor direction for each motor is correct, use the motor direction button, but choose individually instead of wizard

manic spire
#

I will ask though, anyway to tune the power back a notch or two. Just so I dont smash this thing first flight while learning.

severe carbon
#

are you flying in angle mode?

manic spire
#

id hope to start with acro, ive been practicing on a sim for the past month or two while I waited for it to come in

severe carbon
#

good good, its better to go straight into acro

#

pid tuning > Rateprofile Settings > Throttle limit set to scale and throttle limit to what you want
