Setup:
FC- X12 AIO
Battery- GNB 2s HV 530
Motor- RCINPOWER 1002 19000kv (I know they aren’t rated for 2s)
Props- Gemfan 2023 triblades

I’ve flown this AIO with these motors for months now with no issues, the amperage never goes anywhere close to the maximum 12a that the board is rated to. Last week
I was doing a few long high speed passes when my VTX went grey a few seconds after the pass. The drone crashed and one of the motors wasn’t working. I swapped the motor plugs to realize that the esc was no longer working because now it was another motor that would not spin and the original motor that wasn’t spinning was spinning again.

I’m just wondering what might be the possible cause of the failure.

I’ve got a new flight controller to replace it with and I’m thinking of converting it to 1103 motors with a proper 2s kv so that I don’t blow another.

RCINPOWER 1002 19000kv
Melted the motor using 2s, melted motor shorted out the ESC.

The motor still turns which is what confuses me. Would it still work if it’s melted?

What I’ve learned is that the 19000s are a useless KV. In hindsight I should’ve went 14000 for 2s

Does ir turn on its own(while powered on and armed) or did you just turn it by hand

A motor melting is just the coating being burnt off the windings and it shorting against itself, that doesn’t stop it from being able to spin by hand

The motor will turn on its own and throttle up normally when plugged into the other esc @half mango @maiden vine

Idk how though bc they don’t go anywhere near 12 amps

I’m thinking it could be a partial short in the motor that lets it still turn but damaged the esc. I’ll check w a multimeter in a bit

Actually idk if a multimeter can find a motor short bc it’s a closed loop…

No yeah i meant the fc when I was talking about 12a. It’s designed for 2s bc they use it with their 2” 2s whoop

From what I can tell the motors are fine. The fc gave out even though everything was in its bounds

Thats why im confused that the esc is burned out before the motor. Ive heard of people runing 1404s with this fc

i just wanna see if i can use the motors on another 1s build without burning out the fc
