so I've set up my quad but when I arm it and start flying, the video gets noticeably worse. I think the bitrate drops and the video feed gets pretty choppy at times. Before I arm it the video is mostly fine. (Also I'm on channel 3 on the goggles but sometimes the CH 3 icon turns red on the OSD). Heres a video of the issue:

Could be an antenna issue, maybe too close to something or getting noise. I'd also check that you're not running the wrong style of antenna, if you're using a cloverleaf style for example.

but the Ch 3 icon on the goggles turns red sometimes so maybe that's it?

That makes me think it's more of a noise issue. Some ESC's can be very noisy, specially if they're not configured right

ok, how do I know if it is configured right?

I'm not familiar with the mark 5, but I'm sure someone here can help you figure it out. If it gets worse when you arm that's kind of a give away to me.

a giveaway to what?

the antenna being the issue?

If the issue gets worse after arming and the motors start idling, that might be an indication the ESCs might be causing interference.
