I accidently went to 2.8 can I still save it or just trash it?

Yes, slowly charge at .1c up to 3.5v then set it to .5c

Well if your charger doesn't let you balance charge when the battery is so low, you can use nimh mode to bring it back to acceptable levels (of course still at very low current)
