#Power Supply

@analog spruce hi, did you already order the charger?
Asking because there is an AC variant of it, M6DAC, or you can also get the HOTA D6 Pro.
When it comes to PSUs, ToolkitRC makes their own, the ADP100 and ADP180
I haven't ordered it yet, but is there a benefit of getting the M6DAC over the M6D? I was just looking at the M6D pricewise
And thanks for the help!
the M6D needs an external power supply
the M6DAC has an internal power supply
the M6DAC actually has a 200W internal PSU
So I would just need to buy a compatible power cord for the M6DAC?
it uses the standard 8 shaped plug
if you want a cheaper charger with an integrated PSU, there's also the M7AC
but that's not dual
Would any 8 shaped plug work?
as long as it's not too thin of a wire, yes (vast majority should be okay)
the standard name for the connector is IEC-C7 or IEC-320-C7 non-polarized
Would something like www.amazon.com/Branded-18AWG-Figure-Shape-Polarized/dp/B005NJYM3O work?
probably
the charger might even come with a cable
idk tho
looks like it comes with an EU cable maybe?
just a random question but what would happen if you got a charger like the M6D with an external power supply and you tried to plug in a cord
wdym?
like if i got the M6D and i got this cord for it
you won't have anywhere to plug it in
and if you decided to force it somehow into the XT60 slot, well
you'd be forcing 120/240V AC into a connector that takes 12-30V DC or thereabouts
oh alright thanks!
the PSU takes care of the conversion from wall AC to DC
think of it like your phone's or laptop's power brick
If I were to get something like the M7 or M7AC, do those chargers have an internal psu?
