I.. both respect and absolutely abhor what you’re doing

#

Give us updates on it

How big is this frame? Having a hard time figuring out the scale

not sure why angling them so they work against eachother would make it faster?

a turbo charger forces more air in a chamber, thus increasing the oxygen level for the combustion, so not really comarable.
edf are mostly about the airspeed, and the gain from ducting with sizes used in models usually isn't that great, the reason they are used in models is mostly aesthetics & size
ground effect is mostly interaction with the ground that lowers the drag on the wings

i don't necessary see how any of those compare.

but lets for a moment look at what you say you want to achieve:

you assume that angling the propeller pulls in more air.. why?
you claim compression - but there is not chamber that the air could compress against, so it will go the path of least resistance - feel free to give a source reference to explain the fluid dynamics you seem to believe countering that.

but unless there is some really cool effect in play here, the energy you lose from having thrust vectors in opposing direction, I don't think you'll harvest much here

Is it possible that it will help against propwash? And against VRS?

unique jacinth
#

it looks cool, although it will need to stand higher for the props not to strike ground

you hatin' on the old mayans?

What if it opens a star gate?

No Betaflight FC is going to expect to be shaped like an Egyptian tomb, just turn the PID controller way down

#

It's not going to fly well (stable with low filter) but that's to be expected

#

I also agree that you won't get more energy than a flat quad. Collision of airstream has too much energy lost in entropy - in a perfect world you'd only get the same amount of power.

#

It's also related to the interfering airstream and different center of mass - which introduces way more entropy. A lot of propwash.

#

I don't have a mouse so I cannot draw a diagram. But a flat plane quad has the most torque for rotating.

#

If you draw a tangent anywhere on the center of a circle, it will always be perpendicular to the line from that part to the center. Any other line is not going to increase thrust...

#

Why?

#

Even so. If you treat them as the fulcrum, a prop that is directly perpendicular to the center of mass + fulcrum has the most torque

#

Oh, it's not a gif...

tawny zephyr
#

I've not been in a course where torque changes in any frame of reference.

#

However, this is one of the most unique builds I've ever seen, so I ask for you to send a video once it gets flying.

#

Material? Including whatever's holding the joints together?

#

braided fishingline and glue...

#

you're gonna have to run more filtering, I can assume, without looking at a blackbox

jagged horizon
#

is there a reason you left a void under the frame?

#

i feel like it could have been built stronger

Cool. I want to see this flying.

same

Use quad props

#

Or a tri prop

tight oyster
#

more liftoff force right

#

you can downgrade to a small motor with the same power, reduced battery life tho

long silo
#

At least it flies! And as I can see, you haven't to travel to Egypt for every testflight

have one-switch arming with horizon mode enabled. Chuck and arm

Wow sht that's fking fast

You should make it an upside down pyramid 🤓

strange heath
#

Did you see the video of the world record fastest drone ?

strange heath
#

This is a little to complicated for me

strange heath
#

I wanna see a video of that thing going hard

will the fpv cam be mounted on the top?

I have no idea if you have seen this video, but its very interesting

A stubby antenna at that sticks trought the bottom plate ? (Axii stubby antennas are great)

strange heath
#

That could work but I don't know how the signal wil be

strange heath

Maiden when ?

hushed wyvern
#

Not sure if you would see a lot trough the top plastic camera thing. As it has 4 non see through lines

#

Other than that it looks really nice

strange heath
#

Whyyyyyyh

hushed wyvern
#

Im not a specialist in aerodynamics but maybe this part could cause a lot of drag.

Although I dont really see a way to fix it as the propellers sit there too.

strange heath
#

Thanks for translating I don't know a word german

hushed wyvern
#

Would be amazing to see a test flight tomorrow!

#

You're drone definitely has some very cool and special looks. Any way on how you will prove that your design concept of the angled propellers creating a negative pressure effect does indeed improve the flying characteristics and topspeed?

hushed wyvern
#

I'm very excited to see a video!

thorny phoenix

it sounds so funky

#

i like it 😃

strange heath
#

Weird are u using the m10 chip ?

long silo
#

Did you solder the shield to the ground?

hushed wyvern
#

Whats the highest flown speed on this?

summer scroll
#

can you fit bigger props in a smaller foot print like that ?

#

arms too thin you have vibration problems

summer scroll
summer scroll
#

Mini quads need stiffness, Long arms are one of the main problems of bigger propeller sizes.
So if you can use shorter arms for bigger propellers it is a major advantage

Öhm

#

anyone still knows whats going on with this design?
