Me and my friends recently decided to hop into this title as killing floor/l4d got boring. Any advice how to quickly progress trough lvling process? Also do we need to reset missions if our desinged weapons got max exp for current lvl?

the fastest way to get class XP and some coins along the way is through playing Marseille 2 Missile command on extreme and use some mutators to help you, goal is to speed run towards the first objective point in the elevator area and just die then repeat.
yes, weapon xp is gained through killing zombies, once that level is maxed you need to buy the next level to unlock first then proceed to killing zombies again once you hop in a mission again
For weapons, if you are interested, you can use Moscow 1 mission with some mutators to add more hordes and more weapon spawns, once you are inside the museum proceed through the first alarm, then when you get to the second alarm don't disable it, this will let you fight with an unlimited hordes of zombies so you could just use all weapons available around and then leave the mission once all are maxed, but the levels then repeat, there's a few similar locations in the game but this is the easiest.

anything to help you speed it up a little bit more, for example the one that lets you die instantly without getting incapacitated first is useful since if you play with bots, they can be annoying to deal with, just make sure to not use the ones that recude the rewards, if you use one of them by mistake a popup menue will apear to inform you

I think they can change weapons and classes during the match.
