#(DS3 or Sekiro) Issues with unpacking a wep_partsbnd file with WitchyBND / Unable to alter anims

I'm modding sekiro, but a DS3 or ER solution is probably applicable. I have been attempting to unpack prosthetic partsbnd files with WitchyBND v2.14.4.3 and it actually bricks the .anibnd file so that it no longer works in-game (static model). I tried the most recent v2.15 version, and it outright fails to repack. I've been using 2.11.0.0, and it successfully repacks .anibnd and .partsbnd just fine.

I've talked to others about it, but I have been told that it is not possible to open the hkx animations in 3DS, and opening the anibnd in DSAS shows no animation. I'm also not sure how to add new animations in the anibnd so that the game could read it for a different animation ID.

I'm attempting to get another animation ID to have the weapon's animation of flipping out of the arm. I saw that some katana weapons have anibnds for sheathing, so I assume there's a way to add onto this.

It shouldn't break, what are you doing and why are you unpacking the partsband? Are you making edits to the model? Need more info

when youre editing animations the new one wont show in dsas

and yes the last witchy update changed compression, so you need to unpack the parts again and then repack it

Ok so to add animation is not just grabbing from one part to another part. How are you adding the animation? Are you editing it on 3dsmax? or what are you doing?

You don't add an animation to the anibnd of a weapon using DSanim

I just did it for good measure, but I unpacked the anibnd and duped the hkx in there with a new ID

If the weapon has the animation already and it's a073_40000 for example. Now you want to do the animation while the player doing a029_030000.hkx for example, you make a copy and call the new animation a029_030000.hkx

i mentioned it earlier in the beginning, but i was running 2.14.4.3 and it would just brick all of the animations

and 2.15 couldn't repack it in general, but i need to test that again as i might've touched it with an older version of witchybnd previously

Just use 2.15 and just unpack the weapon again, then unpack anibnd, duplicate and rename the hkx, pack anibnd and weapon. If you do things correctly. You should be able to load the player in dsanim and choose the weapon as equipment and play the animation that you want the weapon animation to play and it should work

I'd like to chime in for a second , for a long while couple of my friends and I have tried to load the animation files of prothetic tools into a tangable 3d software like 3ds or blender . but seems like they are either in a format which hasn't been unpacked yet or just outright hardcoded . ya'll got any ideas with that ?

Blender has soultruct, but I haven't use it and pretty sure it doesn't support sekiro

Not Harcoded, but more like not supported.

Havokmax is discontinued and prob won't support it
